I applied to the college of Agriculture and life sciences.

Asian, Pakistani, Male
ACT:32
SAT2 Maths2: 740
SAT1 (old) : 2030
GPA: 3.7/4

EC
-ModelUN, executive member, best delegate awards at 7 muns including Harvard MUN
-Secretary General of my school’s Business Society, winner of Pakistan National Business Idea competition.
-Jumior Researcher at Pakistan Chamber of commerce, SPSS software expert.
-Planted a grape vineyard in rural areas of Pakistan to create more sources of income for the locals.
-Set up a vocational school for women in rural areas of Pakistan
-Worked with an NGO and provided food, clothing and shelter to homeless people in my city.
-Table Tennis team Varsity
-Head of school’s filmmaking society
-Member of the student council

Probably have decent teacher recommendations and an amazing counsellor recommendation.

Would really appreciate some feedback.

@GamerSaeed so are you currently in Pakistan applying as an international student? Can you afford full price or trying to get aid? I think you might have a tougher time getting in with your SAT and ACT scores. Both are at the low end of their typical applicant. It’s not impossible though because your ECs sound great. There are MANY applicants with model UN though so that’s not unique, but the grape planting thing sounds really interesting. I think you have an OK chance but not quite as strong as other candidates. I hope you get in though. Good luck.

I agree with everything except the comment on ACT scores- 32 is average at Cornell accepted, not lower end of applicants.

Just pointing out when looking at “average” acceptance scores, those numbers include people with hooks (such as recruited athletes and underrepresented minorities) who may have lower scores. That said, it seems safer to have above the average if you don’t have obvious hooks.
