@Jaysawwwwn and @AlexDad2016 I did a live chat with College Board today because I also uploaded mine 6 days ago. According to the customer service rep, once it’s uploaded to CB, that counts for being on time for Cornell. You made the deadline in other words. They are just glacially slow with the new FAFSA open date, coupled with ED docs from other colleges and the holidays on top of that.
I’m thinking that decisions will be released on the 15th, Cornell has pretty consistently released on the same day as Duke and some other schools- all of which are releasing on the 15th that I’ve seen so far.
I don’t think there is a correlation. It is mere coincidence. If you think about it, why would a school choose to announce the results on the same day with other schools? I can’t think of any strategic advantage for that school.
Especially for ED. And thanks I don’t think the fin aid docs impact admission but good to know the upload is what counts.
I know it is coincidence, but it’s followed pretty closely, hopefully we get it the 8th because I leave on a vacation on the 15th and wouldn’t want to open it until I got back.
Dec 8 for Cornell this year.
I read on Reddit that someone’s interviewer said decisions were coming out at 6pm EST on December 8th. If so, then decisions are a little less than two weeks away!
@TallTim How do you know for sure?
@pinkdog13 That’s great news, can I see the link?
Nevermind, found the reddit page https://www.reddit(.)com/r/Cornell/comments/5e8xdq/cornell_early_decision_results_date/?sort=top
If anyone is interested
@Shrilkshire CAAN interview process.
How will ED students be notified? Letter? Or is that too 20th century?
Probably on the CU Web Portal @infordump
If anyone has questions, feel free to ask me!
@seniorlife555 how were you notified? Was it email, snail mail, or web portal?
I am 99.99999% sure it won’t be snail mail, I’m pretty sure even Cornell doesn’t have the ability to drop mail at every students house at 6pm on the same day (though we may get mail later, it will definitely be online initially).
Notification is via the portal. CU sends you an email with a link that goes live at the appointed time and and can be used to view the decision. They follow up (eventually) with a letter in the mail eventually. DD was notified in this way last year and I am nearly certain process will be the same this year again.
@Euler21 ^^^Yup. It was through an online portal!
Wow, hello guys. This thread is full of people. a lot of competition here. LOL
Do we know what day is ED notificstion day or have they not announced it yet?
(sorry i keep asking the same question, im so anxious to know)
@jionrubia they still haven’t formally announced it, but there have been 2 reports of people hearing dec 8 from interviewers.
