@rapscallion that’s what I mean. My FASFA dropped off one day and everything else a few days later. Not on the same day
@apham45 Interesting. You said you had the Verification Worksheet as one of your to do items too right?
@Jlmao200 Actually, I’m pretty sure my FAFSA dropped off the same day as a bunch of CSS/IDOC stuff, except for 2 CSS/IDOC documents, then they came off in the next day or so.
@zoe18173 @apham45 i looked up federal verification form and it has to do with confirming finances, etc. i believe it is somewhat of a random process that the FAFSA uses and it means you will most likely be asked for this form from all colleges that you apply to for aid. Not 100% sure though.
@venerat234 Okay. Because the due date is 12/19 I don’t think it is necessary until after acceptance.
@rapscallion then I have no idea if there is any correlation between date of submission or acceptance etc. I don’t think it would correlate with the later though because we probably would know about that due to previous threads from past applicants. Just don’t want to get people’s hopes up
@Jlmao200 Yeah, I’ve been wondering the same thing. In the back of my head, hoping it would mean acceptance or something, but trying not to get my hopes up too much, or arouse anyone else for that matter.
Did anyone get an email asking for additional documents from the FA office? Uploaded what they asked for, but it seems random. Didn’t get any of that last year when my son was applying. He didn’t apply to Cornell though.
All the items on the to do list dropped off a couple days ago.
@zoe18173 Yeah that was one of the forms on my to do list
@zoe18173 yes. only do it if you get accepted.
@venerat234 what school did you apply to?
@silver67 did you upload all the tax documents they had asked for, and did CSS profile?.. but to answer your question…we haven’t been contacted for more info
Yes @grotonMAdad They asked for more.
Spoke to Day Hall yesterday or day before and they said that FAFSA was last thing they would be uploading for everyone, happening this week. Don’t know if that’s helpful.
@apham45 CoE
My mom called the FA office a couple of weeks ago because she had a question about tax forms. The admin who spoke to her said there is NO correlation between doc processing dates and acceptances. FA works independently from Admissions.
Hi! Would somebody clarify “drop off” for me? My son submitted all of his forms on the 25th of October and everything on his “To Do” list, on the Cornell portal, says “Initiated.” Are potential students writing that all the “To Do” documents are no longer showing on the portal as “Initiated” and the “To Do” list is blank? I’m confused.
@teececil some applicants that started with multiple “initiated” items have seen one or more (some have seen all) the items be removed from the list. We don’t know if it’s random, or if there’s any meaning to be derived.
@teececil every item on my to do list had initiated but not it is clear, with a message across the top stating no item left to do(or along those lines). I’m fairly confident it is just a random process.
My FAFSA and CSS have been taken off the To-Do list but not any of the IDOC stuff. I also don’t have a request for any verification form – although on my IDOC it wants a Dependent Student Verification form, it is not for Cornell; it is for a different University.
