Cornell ED Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

Just as I thought, I went back through the whole forum and only counted 5 posts of someone saying they applied to CAS. (Give or take, Iā€™m sure youā€™ll go back and count the one or two I miss). So donā€™t be rude for no reason. Thank you.

Will Cornell email applicants if theyā€™re financial aid application is incomplete orā€¦?

At what time exactly does Cornell send out the notification emails? I know that the date is December 11, and I saw somewhere that it is at 5 PM Eastern time.

but iā€™m not sure

Mine also say initiated. I contacted the financial aid office and on 11/27 they stated it could take 2 weeks to complete processing for all applicants.

The financial aid office emailed me back and said if you have a Verification Worksheet on your list that you should disregard the 12/19 due date and send it to them as soon as possible.

@lrandolph Iā€™m also applying to CAS, psych major. Really excited to hear back, but not sure how selective CAS is compared to other colleges for ED at least.

I am in for biological sciences but I am also considering a double major in psych as well. How cool!! I am as well, from what I see, while CAS is definitely competitive, people applying to AAP for example are more likely to get deferred due to limited spots. @bipedalhumanoid

@299792458 I called admissions and they said dec 11 at 7pm. Hope someone else can call and confirm as well. I know we will be notified soon but soooo anxious now

@lrandolph Thatā€™s good to hear. I donā€™t care (maybe a little) if I get rejected or accepted, but I just donā€™t want to get deferred, ha. I plan on double majoring too! Linguistics as a second one. Have you heard anything about whether double majoring is common in CAS?

@bipedalhumanoid I know an alumnus who double majored in CAS almost 40 years ago, when double majoring was practically unheard of. Iā€™m sure it is incredibly common today.

Does anyone else get a ā€œOracle Peoplesoftā€ log in screen sometimes when they go to check financial aid status from the Cornell applicant portal? Happens to me a lot.

Yeah, me too. I have to refresh the page whenever Oracle screen pops up.

Anyone applying as a Food Science major?

@IvyWise I am not. What are career plans with Food Sci major? Just curious.

Did you confirm December 11 or is that just a guess? Iā€™m just curious.
