Cornell ED Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

@cmustang1 I’m no authority on this but I highly doubt it

@Chelydraroach don’t worry I’ve seen a post on an old Cornell forum here in CC which an accepted student said she accidentally submitted a draft of her supplemental essay which had a couple of typos instead of her final version but she still got in!

Does anyone know why they pushed back the decision date to the 11th? I heard the date got pushed back for upenn as well…

Does Cornell’s financial aid contact applicants if they are missing forms?

@jeonpeter yes dec 11 at 7 pm

Nevermind, I just received an email from Cornell’s financial aid office.

@Bella2018 yes i did! my alumnus was a food science major and she seemed really smart too haha she talked a lot about how heavy the workload is at cornell

@LH7reloaded My guy was super cool but he said he only had between a 3.0 and a 3.2 all four years, so he was worried about getting into medical school, but he ended up acing his MCATs so that worried me a little bit. I mean, he’s a genius and he only got like a 3.1 GPA. I don’t know what his work ethic was like though…

@Bella2018 Cornell is known to be the easiest Ivy to get into but have the most rigorous courses of all the Ivies. While students at Brown and Harvard have an average of GPAs around 3.7/3.8, colleges like Cornell and JHU have average GPAs of 3.2/3.3.

When is Cornell going to email applicants saying when decisions are coming out.

Has anyone’s school counselor told them about Cornell requesting their transcripts? Kids at my school are allegedly getting notified from other ED schools.

my student’s school automatically sent first quarter grades to all schools that were applied to via common app

Will every applicant get an interview? I’ve never heard anything about interview, does it mean I am not likely to be accepted?

No it does not. The interviews are random and just informational. They are only able to reach 60 percent of applicants.

Maybe you can help me. I am checking the Financial Aid on the applicant status website and it says initiated! I do not see Oracle.

So at my high school, I was speaking with some peers about Cornell and long story short, I had no idea what the AAP stood for? Like c’mon who actually knows that undergraduate school anyway? But one person said AAP stood Armenian Apple Pie.

But if you think about it isn’t that a major paradox bc Apple Pie is an American Delicacy?
Thoughts?

@soontobeprepmom up until today… my child’s list also just said “initiated” in the last week or so people have been reporting that the items on the list go away. People had emailed the school and were told that all applicants FA froms would be processed by 12/11

what a relief…thank you.

@ wypiposuck___ did you receive an e-mail from Jennifer Fibbe Wickham asking for you to turn in application materials “in the case you are accepted” I think we received the same thing but idk if I’m looking to into it… or maybe it’s a sign, jk idk though

@wypiposuck___ ^^
