@elpollodiablo I’m asian female and have some of cs related ecs(gwc co-head, internship) but my school has only one cs class that’s not even an AP. I’ve been taking classes like AP Calc, Physics with Calc (my school doesnt offer AP Physics), took math2c (800) and chem (780) satIIs but my reading score for satI kinda sucks (700).
Besides cs I’m also interested in art so I talked about integrating both in my supplement and mentioned computing in arts minor and stuff… haha idk two ppl from my school applied to a&s as well so I’m getting really nervous
Do you guys think that all of the decisions have officially been made yet?
@rapscallion yea
@whateverrrr thats okay, I also did not take CS. I took physic, maths and chem
^^love the let’s be supportive except to URMs attitude going on here. it’s great smh 8-|
@Jlmao200 Sorry
Hey everyone! Just wanted to know that y’all are an extremely talented bunch just have the guts to apply ED to this school. I was rejected last year and don’t fret it if you don’t hear good news tomorrow. Back in high school, Cornell was my dream school. I was just obsessed with everything about it, ranging from Libe Slope and Gorges to the research done by professors, and I have to say that Cornell was the motivation for most of my hard work during high school. I woke up everyday and went to bed thinking about Cornell: Cornell was what kept me alive and made me work hard to get that 1500+ SAT from a 1300~ through two entire summers of studying and maintain my 3.95 GPA with numerous AP courses. It was what made me run successfully for club and student council leadership, what made me volunteer for several hundred hours, what made me intern over the summer at another Ivy school, and what made me write what I thought was a stellar common app and supplement. I know now that I simply should have done these things for passion and not just for college admissions, but at the time, I did them simply because I wanted to study at Cornell.
In the end, I was devastated to find out that I was rejected ED. I barely slept the night after the decision and thought that all my hard work had been nothing. The rejection eventually motivated me to rethink my app and work harder for my RD supplements. I eventually received acceptance to another top school with a <15% admit rate that though isn’t Cornell, but one that I currently love. I later met some other kids who was rejected Cornell ED with me. One was admitted to Brown during RD and another was admitted to Northwestern. Both love their schools. I still remember my rejection but would 100% stay where I am now than go to Cornell. Whatever happens, don’t give up. The rejection won’t mean much, other than a lack of spaces. Y’all will find the school you love. And congrats to all who will get in!
lmao I feel so stupid in this thread lololool I havent taken any HL or AP or honours courses in school
well i’m kinda 99% sure I’ll be rejected
@Dawala282 100% agree. One from my HS went to Dartmouth, another Berkeley.
Good luck everyone! Only 17 hours and 53 minutes!
god I can’t sleep : ( the nervousness JUST set in. also might be because I woke up at noon today haha
when i first read this on the Columbia page, i thought it was a little silly, but they’re doing this thing where they are saying “i think i WILL get in” for reason xyz. i think that would be nice to start here! so… i think i WILL get into Cornell because of my passion and curiosity in science. through my multiple internships, well thought out essays, and rigorous curriculum, i believe i WILL get into my dream school, Cornell:)
I don’t even want to sleep. School is going to be long and painful today.
It’s so nice and sweeet haha! I wish you the best luck and I think you WILL GET IN.
I think I WILL get in because I am a girl who is passionate about engineering. although I never win any major award nor have any special talent, I think I WILL get in because I worked hard and I love using what I can do to help the community. I believe I can get in. I believe what I am capable of!
Hey everybody 17hrs left! I am actually nervous!! I don’t have any special talent not even a great SAT score but Cornell is one of my dream schools I applied so I won’t regret!
I can’t go to sleep rn… I’m literally shaking
@LINA1203 sm0ke tr33
Hurgh ok… I think I WILL get in because I’m really passionate about anything once I’m curious about it and that includes biology. My activities may mostly show my dedication to music but I think that can be applied to how I will be equally determined to excel in science!
I can’t go to sleep because I’m nervous for the results and because I just volunteered at a haunted theatre a few hours ago. Lol
