Cornell ED Class of 2023 Discussion Thread

If my SAT composite score is in the range, but my reading and writing score is low, am I safe?

Does anyone else still have a blank “Check Application Status” tab on the self service website? I am concerned that mine hasn’t been updated.

I did get an alumni interview so I think all my materials are submitted.

Also, how many people got the Cornell Recognition program email because I did and I am wondering if it was sent to everyone.

Thanks!

@premedguy2205 If there is anyone who lives by you they would have probably already reached out. The interviews are not super impactful in admissions and they are completely understanding that many people don’t live near alumni. I wouldn’t worry

Im anticipating decisions to be released somewhere from the 6th to the 10th of December… does this sound about right? Going based off previous years.

Yes I expect somewhere between the 6th and the 10th

you are checking in the wrong place, the place you checked is for financial aid

lmao they sure wasted their interview on me bc my application was TRASH

What kind of stuff did you guys submit for the optional supplemental information in your portal?
& is just the application materials supposed to be on your application status portal and nothing with financial aid on there? My financial aid page is blank and so is my “check application status” on my applicantID portal. is that supposed to happen?

@yllatagu i plan on sending my college transcripts

i like how they send us these e-mails telling us to keep up to date on their instagram and to think about cornell recognition programs knowing full well they’re gonna reject 75% of us LOL

My daughter’s alum “info session” as they call it, is Saturday. The other girl that applied ED from our school had hers last Saturday, so I would agree with the others, that if you haven’t heard by now, you probably aren’t having one. Not sure where you are, but we are in the Chicago area. They alumni have to submit their (up to 250 word summaries) by November 30th to be added to the applicants file.

On my checklist, it has standardized tests in, but I submitted SAT and ACT. How do I know if they received both. Also, I had another recommender, but it doesn’t show up, only my teachers do. Any insight?

My application status is still blank as well as my financial Aid to do list… I’m not liking this.

Cornell has to step their game up… even based off last years forum everything was much more organized and fast paced… not liking this wait or how this is gonna turn out

Could this mean that there are more people applying this year?

I’ve heard Brown and Yale have 20% more ED applicants than before

^Brown is up 20% while Yale is up 5%.

how much is cornell up by?

The number of applicants has been steadily climbing every year. I haven’t seen a number from the university for this admission cycle.

does cornell require first quarter grades for ed applicants?
