@MyGPAIsAnL I don’t know about ACT, but for SAT you can check college board under a score for the date it was sent
@MyGPAIsAnL , in the checklist , it tells how many Subject SAT received, maybe the major you applied does not require SAT Subject test, so it does not show. But from the checklist, Cornell does not tell if your application is completed, it is just all green check mark.
So, my S got a reach out email from a local alum letting him know that she was available if he had any questions about Cornell. As he already went up to Ithaca for an art portfolio review, I’m wondering if this is different from the emails others have received for “interviews/information”. Any insights??
Who are the people that review our application and make the decision? Is it the people that answer the phone when you call the undergraduate admissions office ?
The admissions officers review them, as well as members from the school of engineering. They like to ask some of the faculty for their insights and opinions.
Who are the admissions officers? Is it the people we can email and contact for undergraduate questions?
Anyone on this forum from NY state?
I am
Anyone whose application status is still blank? Does it mean anything? So nervous.
are they going to tell us the exact time and date the results are released?
@chaoticchef, you will receive an email with a password and a link to the decision portal a couple of days before decisions are released. The email will tell you that you can view the decision at 7pm est. Good luck!
Hi everyone, for all those wondering about the alumni `interviews’, I can share my son’s experience (he is at Cornell, Class of 2022)
He was contacted by a member of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network (CAAAN) a few weeks after his ED application. The meeting was quite informal (was held at a Starbucks) It was made clear that it wasn’t an interview and the decision would be made by Cornell University. The questions posed were about his academic interests, why he was applying to a particular school at Cornell, what his intended major was etc etc - all rather general. The alum talked a lot about her own experience at Cornell, what she did thereafter and offered to answer questions that my son had about the university and its undergraduate programs.
Hope this helps
Thank you for the insight, SimplyRed. Your post helps for those of us (at least me!) who are anxious about not getting an invite.
Thanks @RobNin and all the best to you
Super weird I haven’t gotten any interviews from 5 early schools
I’m apping ED. My interview was literally only me asking question about the uni, so no worries at all.
@robnin - The Cornell alumni meetings are non evaluative. It really is more of an opportunity for students to ask questions than vice versa. I know our regional people are scrambling to make assignments and with Thanksgiving next week, it’s even more of a challenge to get to the ED candidates. Definitely don’t worry about this!
My interview was p chill. It was on the phone
-She asked me the why cornell/ how did I find out about cornell
-My fav subject/ project that I’ve done in school
-If there is anything that wasn’t on my app that I wanted the admissions office to know (lol i struggled to answer this one)
- And then any questions I had for her about Cornell
I’m from NY in an area with many applicants and alumni but I still haven’t been contacted by anyone for an interview. Should I be worried?
Im in NY and just got a call for my D tonight for a meeting. I will let you guys know how it goes.
