Cornell ED Class of 2023 Discussion Thread

Possibly for hooked applicants, such as URMs and athletes. Not for unhooked.

I’ll narrow it down further - likely letters in the ED round go to recruited athletes.

Does Cornell tend to ask for Q1 grades for ED applicants?

Hey! Set up ApplicantID, but when I try to log in, it asks for my “temporary pin” as a safety measure. Anyone know what that is and where we can find it?? So confused

@grover715 It’s usually best to send them because Cornell will likely be a little suspicious if you don’t… unless your Q1 grades are going to be…um…less than ideal.

Hi! Did you receive your ApplicantID through an e-mail? I applied near the deadline and received my application status login info but haven’t received anything regarding my ApplicantID. Any help would be appreciated  @sk2001

I got mine slightly later. Anyone yet figured out how to get to their application checklist or do we just wait?

It took like another week

@sk2001 Hey, the “temporary pin” is under the ApplicantID you received in your e-mail.

I’ve applied with the universal college application instead of using common app and submitted on 10/25. I havent received an email confirmaton or applicantID or basically any email from Cornell. Should I be worried? Is anyone else having the same problem?

you might want to call… My daughter used the Common app and submitted by 10/26 and she received all the emails already

@yllatagu I applied on the deadline, 11/1 through the Common App and have already received both my e-mails.

I called them and they said its not unusual with the UCA. Im still worried though. Did anyone else use the universal college application?

Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat, but I wrote really bad essays on the day of the deadline and am honestly not expecting great results.
Still can’t stop being a bit nervous as to whether or not those admissions officers see something special in me though LOL

@weirdflexbutokay Don’t worry. As long as your dad is Bill Gates and donates half the campus you should be fine

Give me my chances:
Applying ED to CALS for Bioengineering(Pre-Med)
3.87 GPA
31 ACT(32 Supercore)
Born and raised in a farming community and have held positions on several farms(I highlight this in my essay). I hail from midwestern Ohio from a school of 60 kids in my graduating class. My school doesn’t offer any AP classes but I take the hardest coursework they offer as well as 16 hours of college classes this semester. My EC’s include over 100 hours of shadowing, VP of my FFA chapter, 3 year class officer, NHS, I run on a squad, many volunteering hours, religious groups, Science Club and Scholastic Bowl, Employment, and Entrepeneuership. I started an all service Aerial Photography Business and operate that. Please let me know what you think my chances are at getting in. And also, I come from a family of 10 and have one older sister who attends the University of Wyoming, not sure if that makes a difference.

@FutureSurgeon27 You sound like a great fit to the mission of Cornell. I’m also an applicant, so I’m not going to rate you based on that I’m as lost as you

wow weird flex but ok.

I know that Calculus I is required for CALS, but should we also take Calculus II next semester of high school? Currently in Calculus I.

Has anyone gotten contacted for an alumni informative session/interview for HumEC?
