Cornell ED - counselor having trouble finding ED agreement form via Naviance?

Common App shows a PDF ED agreement form that the school counselor is supposed to submit (we already did the parent version). Child's high school uses Naviance, counselor doesn't see that ED form on Naviance though. They'll try to contact Naviance Monday, wondered if anyone else's counselor had similar issues and figured it out already. They said they would mail the ED form by snail mail if necessary.

I believe the Counselor ED agreement is available thru Common App (not naviance), If you have given common app the counselor information and email, it should have been sent to them or they should be able to download from Common App. There is also a link for a PDF version of the agreement that you can print and send. It has to be signed by student, parents and counselor.

Thanks @maxsdad! I do see some info on the Common App site too. This is the first year our high school is using Naviance, which they seemed to have expected to use to submit everything. Unclear to me if the counselor can still do things via Common App too.

And do you think the student needs to enter counselor information and email somewhere in Common App, or maybe that is already cross-linked, since they linked their Common App and Naviance accounts? Didn’t seem like the counselor had any e-mail about it. My spouse did get an e-mail with a url to sign.

If we use separate PDF version, seems maybe they will have to use snail mail for that form. There doesn’t seem to be a good place for the counselor to do that via Naviance? If it has to get there by mail Nov. 1 , cutting it close! Or maybe it just has to be postmarked by Nov. 1? https://recsupport.commonapp.org/link/portal/33011/33014/Article/329/How-ED-works-in-Common-App

Hoping my child and their counselor will figure out more Mon. - evidently counselor is having this issue with other ED applications.

Seems like this will be a long week making the various Nov. 1 deadlines!

Nov 1 is for your student’s application deadline. Your counselor can send in supporting information (LORS, transcript) after Nov 1.

Naviance is a waste of school $$$$

@oldfort Thanks for saying that about the deadlines. Was figuring my child should call Cornell Admissions for advice if the counselor doesn’t get it figured out tomorrow, see if there’s that sort of slack on those items. Didn’t quite see that on their website.

@lkgrg17 Not sure if there are Naviance alternatives. Seems to me it at least it’s electronic to help move the transcripts and recs. Evidently this replaces frantic “envelope stuffing” sessions of the office trying to get all the transcripts and recs out.

@MDSparkle‌ - I agree with other posts that Students application must be in by Nov 1, all supporting material can be sent in later. The counselor should call admissions and get clarity on how the form is to be sent. Should not be a problem as long as student application is complete by deadline. When student filled out common app, they needed to list all information for counselor. Additionally, school may accept via fax or email if send directly from counselor.

Early Decision form should be available to the counselor on the ‘Send Forms’ page if they are using Naviance eDocs to submit Common Application forms.

Thanks everyone for your advice! The counselor called Naviance to figure out how to navigate to the right form, it was indeed something like @nvauser1 said, but evidently fairly buried, at least to them. But they were patient calling three times and clicking through, and the form is in. And daughter’s application is in too. Next tough part - waiting.
