wow....they didnt ask for my grades....yet....i really will be screwed if they do.
I have like 2 Bs in AP classes out of 6-7 classes i have
is that horrible?

abanks, did they ask for ur grades or did u just send them in ?

my senior grades suck. I have a B- in AP lit, a C in AP calc, and a C- in AP bio. :(

yep. everyone will be asked to send in a mid-year report (those documents should have been on the cornell application though)

Did anyone from the Hotel School get a call or email requesting first quarter grades? Maybe it's just one school in particular that wants to see 1st quarter. Mid-year reports are due in January, right?

my guidance couselor at school told me that school transcripts/grades are required, I mailed them in with my application, so if youw ere asked for them I don't think it means you're borderline... I'm pretty sure everybody needs them

I know transcripts are required, but I thought after that only a mid-year report is required (in January). Were first quarter grades supposed to be sent in for people applying Ed, or only if Cornell asked for them?

they are not required...if you are borderline or if you havent been the best student but you have an upward trend, i would guess that cornell would like to see how your doing in senior year especially if your taking a rigorous courseloa.

yeah my school divides the academic year into trimesters. the first trimester ended the tuesday before thanksgiving which is obviousy like 2 months after i sent the application in. thats why im a little weirded out by having been told to send them in. im so nervous though because my grades are like really crappy compared to the rest of my transcript. for the past three years in all honors and ap classes my gpa is a 4.08 while my senior first trimester grades are like 3.8. and its also really cool that my ap chem teacher switched my grade and another girls so instead of getting the 97 i deserved i got a 92 (note sarcasm). luckily we ammended that mistake but the correct grade was only faxed over today. i think that it may be too late though : /

My guidance counselor sent my first marking period grades in but I'm not sure if Cornell asked her for them or she just thought I should send them.

if you get in ED, but then your grades drop for the midyear report, can Cornell revoke your acceptance?

A representative from Brown was at my school and I asked him that, he told me that only if your grades severly drop like you go from a 100 to a 45. But if you go from 90's to low 80's he said its "fine". I am guessing the same applies for cornell

i sent in my first 6-week grades with my transcript, i didn't get a request for a mid-yr report. maybe if you got a request, then it means that you got in! (which would be bad for me but good for you guys, i guess) :(

to clear things up: my school's policy is to send in quarter grades to ED schools if they are above the cumulative GPA, and because mine were, they were sent in. Not requested by Cornell.

alright guys there was an engineering chat tonight where we asked questions to admissions counselors and they said that the notification date is december 19th. set in stone. same for the entire university.

asian princess, what you sent should be the same as first quarter so don't try to read into it....you're fine.

December 19th...uuugggghhhh. So now I have to revert back to November 30th mentally. Thats the Wednesday in the middle of my finals week. No matter what the result, studying for the Thursday and Friday exams will be very difficult.
