<p>I plan on majoring in Economics and have found both Cornell and Northwestern to be significantly prestigous in the field. The only question is to determine where I should use my single Early Decision. </p>
<p>I do not find much a difference, but I ask for viewers to contribute the prestige difference and to answer which one will give me a better chance of getting accepted. </p>

<p>Which program are you interested in at Cornell? CAS economics or AEM? If AEM, I can say surely that you will get better job opportunities out of AEM.</p>
<p>AEM seems impossible to me (you can check my chance thread). It was the 11% acceptance rate that ruined my morale, same thing happened with Wharton. Honestly I would prefer to use the early decision for something that will actually give me a good shot :)</p>
<p>Northwestern has a higher acceptance rate. does that solve your problem?</p>

<p>The difference in “cold” between Ithaca and Evanston is going to be minuscule. Don’t put that into consideration whatsoever. If you truly can’t stand colder climates, you should be looking at schools like Vanderbilt, Rice, and Emory. Otherwise, don’t worry about it.</p>
<p>ya just apply where you want to go, if you have a strong preference. screw the cold factor. if you do not care, apply to northwestern, because your chances are greater.</p>

<p>I went to Cornell, but I am from evanston…so I can say personally there is no real difference in weather. Same amount of coldness in the winter, as well as snow. You may be outside more often at Cornell as Cornell does have a significantly larger campus.</p>
