Cornell email

yes, Im wondering if the post about Time Magazine was for another thread somewhere because it sure left me confused.

For those who do not know, 4chan is a website (or more like a bunch of boards) where people post random stuff which sometimes spreads into very well known jokes, concepts, etc. For example, the whole “RickRolling” thing with the Rick Astley song began with the users of 4chan and that became internationally known. Terms such as “■■■■■■■■” which are often used on various forums, including this one, were coined from 4chan as well.

mike4192 is trying to say that chendrix’s belief that the “pre-frosh are ignorant spoiled drama queens” does not only pertain to some individuals who are considering Cornell, but to the entire modern day society as well. (At least I think that’s what you’re trying to say haha)

Back on topic:
Having Cornell assign an e-mail is probably the best way to ensure that everyone has a “professional” e-mail. However, those with common intials may get screwed over by getting some ridiculous number tacked onto their e-mail. I feel that, if there is correct justification, a student should be allowed to change their e-mail to something that is more fitting, but with some sort of approval.

I know 4chan, I know plenty of /b/tards. I guess he’s trying to show how even Time, a well regarded institution, can promote something as unprofessional as 4chan.

Poor argument, I’d have to say. Time isn’t sending their e-mails from IR/B/Tard@4chan.org
