How do the computer engineering departments in Cornell compare to the Univ. of Michigan in regards to things such as difficulty, job placement, prestige?

Hi there. I faced a similar situation as well when I was left with the choices of Cornell, CMU and Michigan. Given cost is not that much of an issue, I would say Cornell is the best option because both Cornell and Michigan's programs are ranked top 10 (i think) so they wouldn't differ very much in that aspect. More importantly, Cornell is an ivy league school so it would definitely accord more recognition and more opportunities for networking with the other ives etc. Also, if you are interested in research, Cornell should be good since there seems to be many research projects and opportunities in the school. In any case, both Cornell and Michigan are good schools so you can't go too wrong with either choice. ;)
