Cornell Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

Hello, everyone!

I was wondering how the transfer process is so far, is it streamlined once you’ve done course evals?

Also, did anyone get accepted with a C or two? I’m just wondering, as I would apply in Fall’18 for admission in the Fall’19.

Thanks

@aaalto Congrats! If you don’t mind, can you say the major you applied to in CAS and what year you are currently (i.e. freshman, or sophomore)? Thanks!

Has anyone heard back from college of mechanical engineering?

Does Cornell send out rejection letters all at once? I haven’t heard back anything yet.

@littlepuppy503 No they send rejections on Tuesdays at 10 AM with acceptance decisions. It’s mixed.

Should all decisions be out before May 15th or 22th?

@illiniBoyi I have no idea. But it sounds logical because most deadlines are June 1st.

I’ve been looking at this thread for a while since I applied to transfer to Cornell for the fall but I’ve been too lazy to actually make an account haha. Anyway, I’m also still waiting for a decision but I filed a non custodial parent waiver about a month or so ago and I just found out from Cornell today the waiver was accepted. So I’m hoping that since they reviewed and accepted my waiver it means they’re at least considering me! I applied to Dyson btw.

Ive also been waiting on a NCP waiver for about a just shy of a month. I was worried that would somehow tie into my admissions decision date. Knowing you got yours accepted hs given me a little bit of hope.

@shermama96 I just checked my financial aid to do list today and noticed my NCP information was no longer on the to do list. So I called the financial aid office and they told me they reviewed my waiver and that they no longer needed my NCP’s information. So I really just called to double check, I never got an email that it was complete or anything else about it. UMiami didn’t tell me about my waiver status either without me looking even though they declined it.

I just realized that my cornell essays for college of human ecology (PAM major) werent that great and not specific enough…i have eh stats for high school and great stats for college, great recs as well-however, my essays are well written vague nothings. Like theyre well written but fail to articulate a strong connection with che…getting a bit anxious. What di u guys think?? My extracurriculars and everything else is good. College gpa is 4.0, but essays are definitely weaker

@criesinchinese im a PAM major too! I have the opposite problem lol my essays were rly specific but I messed up in some classes… good luck to you tho I hope you get in

@narinina @criesinchinese omg once yall get in, please DM me! Would love to know more people in my major  goodluck guys!!

does anyone know what the transfer rate for CHE is, excluding guaranteed transfers?

@narinina good luck to you too!! i’m so f*cking nervous. hopefully there weren’t too many guaranteed/contract transfers this round, but with my luck, idk

sigh getting anxious waiting for CALS to release decisions, but if last year is any indication then it’s likely that they won’t be out until the 22nd.

Any other CALS applicants on here waiting???

@idekidc omg thank u so much  @criesinchinese honestly tho I’m counting on few GTs too!!

welp, we should all receive decisions by may 24th, according to the transfer application schedule listed on cornell! good luck to everyone!!! i believe that transfer decisions are communicated quite randomly for the college of human ecology, so i suppose there is a small molecule of hope!!!

@mohamedali0923 Thank you for the kind words. I wish you all the luck also

Any SHA people not heard back yet? I’m so nervous because my University sent some forms late :frowning:
