Cornell Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

I also sent my HS transcript earlier than my other stuff, and it’s the only thing not checked off. I called them last week too and they just said they’re still processing materials. I guess they’re getting to the transcripts last.

Anyone know when Dyson AEM will start to hear back?

Each school releases their decisions at different times, that’s what I was told when I called today

They cannot find my current schools transcript so I resent it. I sent it to them in January not sure why, in April, they cannot find it. Hopefully it doesn’t affect my chances. Cornell is my top choice.

Guys, I already called and asked the admission officers if later application checked off will affect our decisions since its a rolling basis. They said no, it will only affect the time we find out our decisions! I guess we do not have to be worried  Good luck to all <3

FYI for anyone who’s materials have been received but theres no confirmation at the bottom: all my materials were received yesterday and this morning I got the confirmation at the bottom of my portal that my application has been forwarded for review

Also, they told me that everyone’s material processing should be done in 3-4 weeks (it is a delay on their part this year and we should not be worried).

@KellyAnn05 did they email you about missing documents or did you ask them?

Hey guys, I just called about a missing document (the first item I sent yet it’s the only thing on my to-do list), and they told me to not worry at all. They’re still processing a lot of documents, they’ll e-mail us if they’re missing anything, and we will have time to submit it.

I called them about it. My application was in review then taken out because they didn’t have my transcript @idekidc

Anyone know when humec will release decisions?

Hey guys,

I had to send in my midterm report pretty early (3/1/18) because of early deadlines for several of my schools. Unfortunately, because I sent it in early, I hadn’t taken the midterm exams for most of my classes, so one of my professors assigned a grade of N/A, while another noted on the form that “the grade is based on one quiz only”. However, now that I have finished all my midterm exams and have received As on all of them, I wonder is it worth resending another midterm report to Cornell, or should I just email the admissions office informing them of my updated grades?

I’m just worried that Cornell might suspect that I was trying to get As by “escaping midterm grades”. I don’t want to have to reapply for transfer admissions next year, and I am worried that this may negatively affect my admission decision for this admissions cycle.

Thanks in advance!

I’d send in another mid term report. Your grades didn’t change and you can write in the comments that you wanted to provide a more accurate midterm report @ObLiViOuSx99

I just have my HS Transcript left to be ticked off too, which is strange since I sent it the earliest back in Feb. Does anyone know when HumEc decisions start rolling out?

Do you think it would be too late if I decided to send an updated midterm report? I would have to wait until after the break before I can ask my professors, which would be approx 4/10/18, and I’m not sure if the admissions office at Cornell and my other schools would have made a decision by then.

@ObLiViOuSx99 4/10 sounds slightly late considering that estimated first decisions come out ~4/17. Even if you did send it in by 4/10, Cornell probably wouldn’t add it to your final until a week or 2 later and idk if you’d want to wait longer to hear back. If your grades improved then it would be a different story but if they say the same thing I’m not sure if it would make that much of a difference

@futur3clssof2o2o
Well, the main reasons I was considering sending an updated midterm report is because:

  1. On the midterm report that I sent, one of my professors assigned me a grade of N/A coz there was no assignments in at the time
  2. I didn’t even taken the midterm yet for most of my classes.

Do you think these 2 reasons justify going through all the hassle of sending an updated midterm report?

**Also, is the 4/17 admission decision date for all Cornell schools or for specific ones? I thought transfer decisions would be released in may

4/17 is the historical decision release date

You might as well try with the midterm report. A grade looks better than N/A

@ObLiViOuSx99 definitely call and ask Cornell admissions. They know better and are all very nice. The deadline for additional materials like the midterm report is due on the 15th of April so you still have time. Although, previously, the first wave of rolling admissions seem to be early, Cornell admissions officer told me that this year they are actually around 1 month delayed with their processing. They expect all the processing to be done by the end of April to early May. Just call and ask them.

Hey all, I’m curious about something. If we’re admitted to a specific school, are we admitted to the major we filled out on our application, or do we have to declare still? (Curious because I may want to change me major…)
