Cornell ILR Phone Interview

Hi guys,

I'm a transfer applicant for the fall of 2013, and I have a phone interview for ILR this week. Can someone who's currently an ILR student elaborate as to what I should expect? Is this an evaluative interview or something done just to acquaint myself with the nuances of the ILR school versus the other schools at Cornell?

Thanks again,

Mistasuggs

I am in the same situation and similarly curious as to what one should expect. My interview is scheduled for tomorrow, so if no one has an answer for you by then I’ll try to make a post afterwards.

Thanks man, please let me know.

Just finished - it was pretty informal. Only a few questions:
Why ILR?
Anything to tell me about yourself?
Any questions for me?
Have you been able to take an economics course and have you taken an English composition course?

Excellent, thanks man.

You’re welcome! Good luck :)

Did you all wake up one day aspiring to study labor relations?

I’m genuinely curious.

Not just any labor relations – INDUSTRIAL labor relations :stuck_out_tongue:

My interest lies in the relationship between politics and economics. While I have been interested in politics for a long time, the economics interest is a more recent development.

Plus, the Daily Sun rated ILR as the “sexiest major at Cornell”

Pretty much speaks for itself
