Cornell ILR School Question

<p>I am a rising high school senior who is interested in pursuing business or law in the future. Someone suggested I look into the ILR school.
-Is this school good for kids who are interested in law/business or is it more focused on labor relations? Would it be better just to apply to Cornell CAS and do a political science or econ major?
-I know the ILR school must be prestigious since it is part of Cornell, but how does it compare to similar schools?
- Also how easy is it to move between schools at Cornell, if I decide to switch my major later?

<p>It’s great for law. Many students go onto law school from ILR. You take some law school-like courses as a requirement. With regards to business, there are no quant finance specific courses in the curriculum, but you have 60 credits to take anything you want. I took finance in the Hotel school for some of my GE credits. Cornell CAS and ILR have vastly different curriculum; look at them carefully and see what classes you would rather take. (CAS has a foreign language requirement, more math requirements on average, and more of a liberal arts broad view. ILR is more focused on law/corporations/labor/non-quant reading.)

  Get above a 3.5 and you shouldn’t have a problem after your first year. Many people I know do. I personally know a kid who went from ILR to CAS after 1 year and he had like a 3.1. </p>
