Cornell ILR vs. NYU Stern

I posted this question in the Cornell forum so I figure I should ask NYU students too. I want to work for FIFA and be an agent for players either in the big city or in Europe. Which program do you think would be more beneficial? Thanks everyone!

I’d take ILR. I wish I had gotten into ILR because its perfect for me (I also want to be an agent). The curriculum is ALOT more based on what you want to do in the future. You should check it out on your website if you havent already, its pretty much a crash course on becoming an agent, so awesome.

NYU…please its freakin awesome. You’ll have the best experience of your life.

I think that you should base your decision on the following:

Academics - ILR is sort of a mix of Business/Econ/Law, focusing specifically on Labor Relations. Cornell is a very strong school overall and if you change your mind from ILR, you can transfer to AEM in CALS or Econ in CAS.

Location/Fit - Cornell is in Ithaca, a rural setting in upstate NY. The social scene is based around campus, there’s a lot of natural scenery and gorges, there is a big Greek scene. NYU has no campus, is in downtown Manhattan and the social life revolves around the city. Completely different vibes!

Finances - NYU is known for stingy financial aid. If you’re from NY, ILR is a no-brainer because of reduced tuition and Cornell has better financial aid overall. If you’re not from NY it makes no difference I guess. I don’t know if NYU gave you good aid or a scholarship or if finances are even an issue for you. Talk this over with your parents.

Good luck, you can’t really go wrong with either school.
