Hello, I'm new to the Chance Me thread but I'm going to follow the outline that was agreed upon in the Chances of a Chance Me thread. :) Hope I'm not too terribly confusing.

MY COLLEGE LIST:
Coastal Carolina University
Elon University
James Madison University
Cornell University
Marymount Manhattan College (my #1)
Pace University
Ithaca College
Shenandoah Conservatory
Muhlenberg College
American University

INTENDED MAJOR: Musical Theatre

UNWEIGHTED GPA: 4.0

WEIGHTED GPA: 4.8

AP COURSES: Calculus AB/BC (5), Psychology (5), European History (scores not sent out yet), will be taking Lang/Comp next year.

Certainly non-prestige oriented at all - looks like you know what you're doing - I actually don't recognize any college on there besides Ithaca, Pace, Cornell and JMU!

I expect full scholarships (mabye they'll give you a salary to make their school a more lively place) at half of them at least.

Unfortunately, none of these schools that require auditions are sure bets for MT. Most kids aren't aware that getting into an MT program is harder than any Ivy admission. Admission will be based completely on talent and academics will not be a big factor. The acceptance rates are typically less than 10%. You need to add a few more non-audition schools to the list - like Muhlenberg. Cornell doesn't have a MT program that I'm aware of. You'll be in academically at most of these but that's not even half the battle. Hopefully, you are working with a voice teacher, acting teacher and getting dance lessons and working on monologues and song choices now.

I suggest you ask over on the MT forum for suggestions. Muhlenberg is often mentioned for theater. The non-audition programs are more likely to be BA programs rather than BFA. Obviously, I can't judge your level of talent so you may be a good fit for many of these audition schools, but you just never know when an audition is involved so you either have to have a separate academic track or put some non audition BA schools on the list. Brown is an example of a school with obviously great academics and also good opps for performing. Northwestern is a possibility. Ask on the MT forum if there is a non-audition program there. There is a wealth of info on that forum - do some searching and reading and then post some questions.
