Cornell or Amherst/Williams?

This is actually my first time on collegeconfidential, but I got into Amherst, Williams and Cornell, and I don't know which to choose! I've visited all three schools and I like all of them. I should mention that I'm not hte most outgoing person ever, and I want to got to medical school. Does anyone have any insights about what it's like to go to Cornell, and how big teh Greek system is in the social life there?

I can speak on a few of those topics. First: Cornell's med school stats are very good. The percentage of Cornell grads that are accepted to med school (of those that applied), is 78% when the national acceptance rate is 50%. Also, 89% of Cornell grads that apply to med school with a 3.4 GPA or higher are accepted.

For greek life, all I can tell you is what I heard. It exists, and it is fairly large, but it does not dominate social life. You can have fun without getting **** drunk (although if that's what you like, you can do that do. I'm not one to judge.)

Now, I'm not the most outgoing person myself, but hey, college is all about changing. Sunrise. Sunset. I'll be going to Cornell in August I plan to get out there and have fun.

Also, aren't Amherst and Williams big rivals? Like, really hated rivals? Just asking.

yeah pretty much iggy they are bitter enemies. splitchesnut, try staying overnight at cornell days and meeting some people. also theres a website classof2009.cornell.edu where you can see what the incoming class is like and make your own profile. Try asking some specific questions about cornell.

Greek is fairly prominent, but by no means manditory, almost all of the parties they hold are open. Also there are not-alcoholic, haha, alternatives to them sponsored by the university.
