CAS at cornell; mcdonough at gtown. if i go to cornell i would probably major in econ, MAYBE try to transfer to CALS to do AEM. thoughts? whats better

Neither is better. They’re both excellent universities. Different, but excellent.

Have you visited both campuses? That might help you to make a choice.

yes i think gtown campus is a lot more compact…though urban?

city life is a no brainer…

though gtown is a lot more jockish than cornell…very much a preppy school too a-la vanderbilt!

seriously? i thought cornell would be more “jockish” lol. thats a surprise. and i know that the both are very good universities. and im going to visit in the next couple of weeks. but ive already visited gtown. liked it a decent amount.

since you say theyre different, you wanna spell out some of the differences for me??? pretty please lol

look out for the attitudes of the girls…i’d say girls at cornell are chiller and dont really care that much about their looks (unless they’re in a sorority)

gtown girls are bound to be hotter.

i have a friend at gtown med school and he said that even the grad schools were very jockish preppy lol.

Georgetown is pretty preppy. I lived just-off the Georgetown campus for a summer with a bunch of Georgetown students and another Cornell friend. We felt like we were the laid-back intellectual dudes when compared to the Georgetown folks. (And we were both in applied social science programs in the contract colleges at Cornell. It’s not like we were philosophy majors.)

I also had a good friend at Cornell who transferred there from Georgetown. She was pretty hipsterish/intellectual, was a psych/history major at Cornell and she really disliked Georgetown but really liked her time at Cornell.

I always find that story amusing because of the UChicago types on this board who always paint Cornell as solely a bunch of pre-professional anti-intellectuals.

hahah now im very curious. are the gtown girls preppy, as in snotty? and wont talk to someone from a poor financial background like me? and the girls at cornell as not as hot, as in ugly?

either way, i guess its going to come down to which school i like better when i visit. thanks for the help though!
