Cornell or stay at Binghamton?

Hi,

I know there are plenty of Cornell Binghamton transfer posts, but I’ve yet to see one that is similar to my situation. I am about to finish my sophomore year of college and am applying to do a double degree in Computer Science and Mathematics at Binghamton. Since I came in I’ve been talking to the head of the CS department and she’s been letting me take the prerequisites to get into the CS program. I just recently applied and will find out if I’m accepted in late May. However, in the event that I don’t get in, I need to apply to other schools for transfer. I was already accepted into RIT, and am waiting to hear back from Cornell. If I get into either Cornell or Binghamton’s CS program I’d happily pick the one I’m accepted into. On the other hand, I’m really unsure which one I’d pick if I get into both. I’m not unhappy at Binghamton, and was planning on living off campus next semester with some friends, but I hear very good things about the CS program at Cornell. I’m also already very involved here at Bing, so I was leaning towards staying, but I’ll pick whatever is better for my future.

Wait to see what your choices are…

I graduated from the Binghamton U EE program. Now I do CS for work. I can honestly say outside of college there are only 2 schools I’d pay all the extra $$$ for. MIT & Stanford. They give you an amazing network. Cornell is great but not worth the extra money IMO.

That said, it sounds like any choice isn’t a bad one. They are all pretty good schools.

Think you should worry about this after you get into Cornell.
