I applied to AEM.

I live on Long Island as well (Queens), but I was deferred because of a missing supplement essay. You could be getting a letter soon I guess.

^ok thank you. congrats

anyone in the Philadelphia area receive anything yet?

Even though CALS, Hotel, and ILR are rolling, MOST applicants hear back on the 31st or 1st, only a small percentage will receive acceptances now.

^are these applicants the best ones or is it just based on when the applications were submitted?

D just got letter of acceptance to Hotel School. Very surprised; I’m thinking the interview (that is required for hotel school applicants) must have helped quite a bit.

Actually, as I’ve been looking back, I’m beginning to wonder if these aren’t the cream of the crop and Cornell is getting around the Ivy agreement to not release decisions until later by having rolling admissions. After all, if these colleges within Cornell were truly using rolling admissions, wouldn’t make mores sense if the letters came out in waves rather than a very small number now and the rest later?

Of course, if this were the case, I would imagine that it would make more sense for Cornell to have rolling admissions for CAS and Engineering. Any thoughts guys? By the way, besides Arizona, has anyone out west received any letters?

i’m also curious as to how they decide who gets an early acceptance

Accepted to ILR. :D

The applicants that are accepted now are not necessarily the better applicants - they are the applicants whose decision was ready by a certain cut-off date. No deferrals or rejections will be issued at this point. The majority of acceptances will come on April 1. Congratulations to those who have been accepted and good luck to those waiting for decisions.

damnnnnnnnnnn! im on spring break right now and all my decision letters go to my boarding school :(. i wanna know if i got accepted to AEM ://///

My friend got accepted to ILR, I’m SO excited for her <3!!!

thanks, CornellAN. ILR is my first choice and i thought i was a really strong applicant so i was really upset to see others in my area getting acceptances. guess i’ll just have to be patient until the 31/1

Because of the statutory college’s special NY status, they are technically allowed to get around the ivy notification date using rolling admissions.

CAS and Engineering must stick to the ivy notification date, but instead send out likely letters (like the other ivies do) as a way of getting around the date and trying to increase minority and high-hook enrollment.

ACCEPTED to Hotel School!!!
Super surprised to get my letter today since I am from Oregon (and I didn’t think I would be getting one at all!!!) YAY!!!

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!
