cornell RD admission decisions

Ag school baby!

Accepted to cals whooopwhooooooooooooop! (;

any animal science majors get letters??

accepted–ILR! :)

Applied to CALS for biological sciences and got my letter today!

It just goes to show that a terrible interview really has no effect on admissions.

If people from my school have gotten their acceptances and I haven’t, should I be worried?

Not at all, only a small number of applicants from these college get their decisions now. Most people will find out on April 1st. Good luck i’m sure you’ll be fine, I didn’t think i was gona get in but i got my letter yesturday! So you never know.

someone asked this earlier on the thread but no one gave an explicit answer:
are the people who get these “early acceptances” at the top of the applicant pool? or is this “rolling” system just random?

It’s random. They send out the apps that happened to be finished by a certain date.

clinegirl: congrats!!! im excited for you, because i remember reading some of your posts a while back…you really wanted hotel. everything worked out!

congrats to everyone else, too! class of 2014!!

does the order in which they finish reviewing the apps correspond to the order in which the apps were submitted…? like if i submitted my app an hour before the deadline, is it less likely that i get one of these early acceptances?

Got my letter for Hotel school today!!! :)) I’m so shocked and happy and excited!

I was a deferred applicant and was really devastated about it, but this has made my weekend, week, even MONTH.

Good luck to the rest of you guys!

(I’m from MD, btw, and my stats are on the ED thread!)

WOW, congrats to all you guys who got acceptances.
I’m an international student CAS is my first choice and CALS is my second choice. Do you think I can get a decision on Rolling admission from CALS?

Again congrats to everyone who got in and for the rest Class of 2014 hopefuls, Good Luck.

any international students receive their letter yet?

To all who got accepted Congratulations. Could some of you just tell me your Sat scores. Just curious to see the ranges. My son is applying to cornell in the fall. Good luck to all!

Congrats to all, who received the acceptance letters. I’m a CALS applicant and nothing came in the mail so far. Good luck to all others in the same plight.

I’m wondering if these decisions keep coming now on a daily basis? Or was that a first wave and will there be another wave or do the rest just have to wait until April 1st? I realize that most people will find out on the 1st, but I’m just curious if for the rolling colleges, is that it or are more “waves” expected from past experience?

Read up on this for the past several years and you’ll see it appears to be one wave before the RD deadline. I tend to think of these as somewhat equivalent to “likely letters” sent by most of the Ivies. Very desirable candidates getting an early recruitment encouragement. Conjecture but what I’ve gathered from reading this board for the last three years.

This should be the only release of decisions prior to the Ivy Release date. This release did not include all of, or only the high priority applicants. The majority of decisions will be released at 5:00 on April 1.

Why then do they release such a small percentage early?
