Decisions on March 31?

Any chance that decisions will be released on March 31? How has it been traditionally? Do ivies state it will be released on a certain day and release it sooner? I don't think schools have ever released it as late as April 1...

Sorry brushingteeth, there’s pretty much no chance at all. Columbia has already announced the official date/time as April 1st at 5 pm (did you get the email?), and all the other ivies have said that their decisions are released on April 1st too. In order to release it sooner, all the ivies would have to agree on that same earlier date, and it’s hard to coordinate that kind of thing.

April 1st is the Universal Notification Date and May 1st is the Universal Reply Date, so April 1st is not any later than previous years. That said, I know tons of people who have already been admitted to Cornell RD. And these don’t seem to be likelies; they’re more like actual admissions letters. So go figure.

Some of Cornell’s undergrad colleges run on rolling admissions. I’m not sure why they’re exempt from the Ivy agreement, but apparently they are.

Makes sense, it’s probably the land-grant colleges. Cornell has a complex relationship with the state of New York; some of the colleges it operates are actually public schools while others are private.

I think the Cornell students who have already been admitted are the ones who applied to Cornell’s more specialized schools, such as hotel management, veterinary science, etc. But I don’t really know! That’s just what I read on another thread haha… For everyone else its APRIL 1st!!!
