My application status portal financial aid to-do list says I have 3 documents missing, but I sent them ages ago. What should I do?
I’m an international applicant; will this affect my decision, or just the financial aid reward, if I’m admitted?

@rockdomino
I’m exactly where you are. Well, I didnt apply to MIT. I just got an email that decisions were coming soon and then I got really anxious so I cam here. I read that everyone has been getting these likely letters and I didn’t get one. I’m also a female engineer and an international student. I applied as a computer science major. Does everyone who is admitted get a likely letter? So does that mean if you didn’t get a likely letter, you didn’t get in? I’m slightly confused on this likely letter process…Also do international students get them?

Where is everyone accessing the remaining IRS verifications to be filed? Is it just on the check application status page after clicking financial aid checklist?

Anyone applied math major got likely letters???

@mamba123 - it would appear on your financial aid “to do list”…if its not there - celebrate because you and your parents dont have to spend time & energy tracking all the verification stuff down and sending it in. the IRS selects fafsas to verify- it is not a predictor of admission.

Will not filling out the verification forms until we get our decision impact our financial aid?

Yeah, I got the notification email as well.

@limenkiwi: I’ve heard that it’s harder to get into CAS than CHE…which worries me. But, I think I’m a better fit for CAS.

Does an invitation to the Diversity Hosting Week mean you’re in? Or is it emailed to every URM?

Oh and to everyone that got it, does it say “You will be admitted to the Class of 2016” like the previous years? Cause mine doesn’t say that ): Only that I’ve been invited to Admitted Students Day.

@teaberry
It’s under “financial aid to do list”

So earlier today I got a call from the admissions asking me to send in a copy of my updated transcript by tomorrow noon EST. I’m a little confused since don’t they just contact my counselor directly? Plus decision day is so soon!!

Did they give any reason for the call? What school did you apply to?

They just told me that they would like to see my current transcript, and I applied to CAS.

Maybe you’re a borderline acceptee and your admissions officer is trying to push for you and needs your current grades as further proof to the committee to admit you? :P

Skittles, did you have a dip in grades last semester?

My grades have been on an upwards trend… until second semester, obviously. Which makes me really worried that they want to see my current grades…

yes, it makes sense. (S)he wants to see that upward trend continue.

Yeah, it’s just that… it seems a little late? I guess I should be happy that this means they’re still considering me then! :)

Did anyone else receive a phone call from adcomm at Cornell asking them to apply? Like in October/November?

GL Skittles, I think it’s a good sign! :)

@Skittles - i agree with ^^ its a good sign…but you never know until you know. all the best
