I mean likely letters will go out in a couple of weeks.
Are likely letters limited to a particular Program or Department at Cornell?
When were they sent out in previous years?
Were you involved with Questbridge? @Volunteerism i remember your username and picture from somewhere.
But likely letters from what I’ve read on other forums come out around Mid March to be exact March 14 or 15th. Minority students typically get them, women in engineering also get them.
Yes, QuestBridge Thx
I have heard the same info for LL
However some schools do limit the LL to specific programs/departments.
Does anyone know if CALS does likely letters?
I really hope CALS does… @AlmostThere2018
Do the SHA early March acceptance come only in mail? Or they will also send one in Email.
I’m just so nervous.
@AlmostThere2018 @yayaylearner I also hope CALS does! I have heard on other CC threads that URMs/other diverse students and women in engineering frequently receive likely letters. I don’t know if they were sent out by Cornell University itself or the individual colleges though…
For more likely info see these CC threads: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1619269-cornell-rd-likely-letters.html

I don’t think anyone should be worrying about or pining away waiting for a likely letter, since most students that get accepted don’t get one. I feel like the kids that do get likelies never expect them and are instead pleasantly surprised. :))
I mean a considerable amount of students who are accepted to Cornell receive likelies. Cornell actually produces the most likelies out of the ivies. They send out to most URM who have been accepted and women in engineering. But Mid-March, there will be decisions that haven’t been made yet so some people will not receive decisions although they may qualify.
Also, it is not by school in Cornell. Likelies are given out regardless of the school and major you apply. You will most likely receive one if you’re a minority, women in engineering, or top pick. You shouldn’t freak out if you don’t receive a likely though because as I said some decisions will still be pending at the time of release for likely letters.
@anxiouswreck I agree I’m trying not to think about it…
They probably send some “Likely Letters” to URM so they can attend Diversity Hosting weekend.
According to Cornell’s Diversity hosting web-page this years event be held April 11-30, 2018.
If you’re not a URM or woman in engineering there’s no need to stress because you probably won’t get one
Edit: likelies instead of decisions in my previous post.
And even if you are, some URM and women in engineering don’t receive likelies
We’ll know in about 2 weeks.
@HERCULES_HERCULES, right not too much longer.
@Kd6410 - you’re absolutely right - best not to expect any news until decisions come out.
My dad still has his likely letter from ILR and he’s really glad he kept so if you get a physical one hang on to it!
What is a likely? Any idea when ILR acceptances go out?
