Cornell RD Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

Mine was specific to additional remarks I’d made about an income decrease in 2017 so they asked for that tax return which of course my parents haven’t done yet :-S

@Inxight what did the email say? Was it like you’re missing form or something of that nature?

I honestly think them reaching out to you about financial aid is a sign. If it’s not a generic letter but one that is catered to you then it has to mean something. I don’t think Cornell makes a financial aid package for every student who applies, I think it is for the students who are admitted. Imagine if they made a package for all 40000 students that apply? Wouldn’t that be ridiculous? With being said, I think them looking further into your application is a good sign.

@bigchoices2018 I got a financial aid email today as well, reminding us to submit parental w-2 forms. I know it doesn’t mean anything but we can still hope…

Do SHA sent out their decision yesterday (March 1st?) What kind of mail do they use, will it arrive in a few days to Asia?

I didn’t get any such email and I’m missing forms so I mean it could mean something

@atxfather was that for Cornell ED specifically?

I didnt get any email, but at thr same time, i already sent everything in and I dont believe I am missing anything…Idk whether I should read into anything

The admission office works separately from the financial aid office. A missing item is just a missing item… no hidden message.

Did anyone receive a SHA likely letter yet?

Did anyone get an admission letter from ILR yet?

^^i wanna know bc this wait is killing me!!!

Anyone know when SHA results are coming out? I’ve heard that they release their results earlier than the rest of the schools.

@singergirl11 looking at past years people should start receiving likely letters on Monday but not everyone receives them.

For likely letters in general, if I don’t get one does that mean I have no chance of getting in?

@MrElonMusk certainly not, a lot of people say that little applicants receive them which may ring true for other schools, but for Cornell, a good chunk of admitted students receive them.

Over 400 URMs recieve them! A good amount of women in engineering receive them. Outstanding Students for particular scholarships receive them. I would say a good amount of admitted students receive them.

However, not receiving one doesn’t mean you’re not admitted especially if you don’t fit any criteria like being a URM or women in engineering

@sf0617 those weren’t Liklies, those were acceptance to ILR. ILR sends out acceptances a bit early by snail mail.

@HERCULES_HERCULES Thanks. I shall remain hopeful despite no letter yet.
