Cornell RD Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

Don’t be scared @HERCULES_HERCULES , I am just thinking and theorizing. My D did not get notification from Human Ec about missing items. She reached out to an ad com in the winter some time, and she sent an additional letter of rec. in Jan., I think. I remember reading some of her essays over again about a month ago, and I really liked what she sent to her schools. Not sure there is more to do. She gave it her best shot at each school, and it’ll be over in 3 weeks! For me, that can’t come soon enough!

@Winky1 Isn’t that the truth!

Just asked my dd. She got the same email hercules got. Wasn’t planning on responding, but now will, I think, after she comes home from work tonight.

It might be the anxiety talking but is it too late to send an update on extracurriculars? I’ve recently qualified for ICDC (deca internationals) and was wondering if it is worth it sending the person that interviewed me an email about it?

Oh i didn’t get that email @bestmom888, it was Rufus101 but I’m scared because that email might mean something like he’s admitted

Did anyone get a congratulation email from SHA? Last year they send email today for admitted students.

Probably not, it’s saturday. They’ll probably send out on Monday if anything.

@HERCULES_HERCULES Thank you. Hope for the best
P.S. did any international student get SHA Acceptances Mail? Don’t know how long it would take to reach Asia.

@Texasstudent827 - You should send the update to Cornell Admissions via portal.Although it is a little. But if your app is on the fence, this may help.

@brinksbsmd thanks

I got an email late Feb telling me they were reviewing my financial aid application and asked for additional documents.
I have no idea what the email means and uncertain what I should take away from it. :confused:

There is a government requirement that they verify some fraction of all FA applications. It’s possible your application just got selected for the additional data. In any event, the FA offices generally operate independently of admissions. As much as folks would like to read a request from the FA office as a flag that something has happened on the admissions side, it probably doesn’t imply anything specific has or hasn’t happened.

I’m freaking out right now because I just got another email from Cornell financial aid office today. Apparently there is a “significant difference” in parental assets between the FAFSA and CSS. No other college reported such a difference. Since they reported that my admissions file has been placed “on hold” I’m guessing that’s a definite “no” for any diversity letter. :frowning:

Just get them any information they need asap @SuperGymnast_04

Wait your admissions file is on hold? are you sure? I don’t think your admissions would be affected by financial aid.

@HERCULES_HERCULES the email says that my file is on hold until the information is received. Obviously, we are going to send it in ASAP, probably later tonight.

I still find the whole thing shocking; the same CSS/FAFSA have been accepted without a problem from nearly 20 other schools…

@kcasssuu I got the snail mail from SHA about getting in and then today I did get an email from SHA too with Congratulations…

@SuperGymnast_04 FA will not affect your admissions file. Are you sure that is what the email said? FA forms are optional.

@SuperGymnast_04 I think they meant your financial aid file is on hold, not you admissions file.

Has anyone gotten a likely letter? When should we expect them to come out?
