Cornell RD Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

Did all SHA admitted students got acceptance email until now?

Don’t likely letters come out on the 15th???

The earliest is probably the 14th for likelies

Over the past couple of years, they released mid-March so around 13,14,15

They’re sent through email?

Yeah @anonymous_otter127

What is the difference between a likely letter and diversity letter? Are likely letters also only for URM’s, female engineers?

The two are basically synonymous I guess, being that a diversity letter is litter inviting diverse students to the the Cornell diversity hosting, it also explocitly states that you’ll be admitted or you’re likely to be admitted

So asians who did not apply to engineering def wouldnt get a likely letter?

No likely letter today in PA. My D applied to Human Ec., and she is not an URM. Just thought I’d let you all know, though.

I applied to Human Ecology as well, @Winky1, and didn’t receive a likely letter as well. At this moment of time I think they have stopped sending likely letters, should there be any, to Human Ecology applicants; about two or three weeks prior to the decision release date, there is a common ivy block window that prohibits colleges from contacting applicants about their decisions

According to the CAAAN CALENDAR the Ivy Blackout and Moratorium periods: no contact with applicants is March 15 – March 29. So in theory it can be sent up to the 15th. Well, this is just for a general idea because it says it’s for the 2017-2018 admissions cycle, so just use this for a general idea.

Likely letters are rare, right? Anyone know how rare? Mostly URM and women in engineering/CS? My D has applied CALS.

theyre p rare outside of URM and women in engineering. Anyone think that likelies are coming out today? I think it’s either today or tomorrow at 4:30

they’re very rare considering they only go to a subset of the accepted students, and regular decision acceptance rate is likely only going to be around 13 % or so… that means for every 100 applicants on this forum, only 13 are getting accepted, and at most 5 are getting likely letters

If you’re a URM I would say that a likely letter is a good indicator of acceptance. I had one friend last year that received one and one friend that didn’t. The one that didn’t receive one ultimately did not get in. They were both URM

My D is not URM so not going to stress about a likely letter. These super competitive schools are such a long shot anyway, sigh, but she’s already got some good options so it’s all good. Good luck everyone!! Remember, college is what you make of it, not where you go!

Do they accept a lot of SHA applicants on IVY day? Still haven’t gotten one and I am stressed… have wanted to go here since 8th grade for hotel school

wait how do u know?

how do you know when URM letters go out? that sounds specific
