Cornell SHA or BC CSOM?

I’m a freshman in BC’s carroll school of management and I’m really just not liking BC so far. All my classes are going well, I just am not sure how I feel about the school and the people here. I have a GT to Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration. I’m very interested in their Finance, Accounting, and Real Estate concentration and as of now hoping to get a job on wall street and get into i-banking…which Cornell SHA has a specific track for. I’m definitely also interested in a career in commercial real estate. So basically my question is if I should take the GT or not? How good are both schools alumni networks?

You are only a few weeks into school. You don’t need to decide now. See how things go at BC and if you are unhappy at the time when you need to send in a deposit, then move to Cornell. In the meantime you should make an effort to find friends, get involved on campus, go to sporting events etc. and make the most of your time at BC, even if it is just a year.

Uhh, you want to get into i-banking and you want to leave BC for Cornell? Last I checked, BC had a much better track record in i-banking than Cornell.

BC is strong in accounting/finance and has a strong presence in Wall Street. I would give the school a chance. I think either school can get you where you want to be. Explore Boston and get involved on campus.

^ I’ve heard otherwise. BC CSOM is a great school, but I’ve heard its a semi-target for ibanking. Not sure about hotel administration, but Dyson AEM is a solid target with great placement.

According to Poets&Quants, Cornell was #5 and BC was #7 for Wall Street Feeders. Both schools have large representation on Wall Street.

Cornell is a significant step up overall over BC, just check whether your school at Cornell is geared towards your intentend career/goals.

I would plan on doing the (FARE - Finance, Accounting & Real Estate Concentration) and then they have different career track paths and i would do the “Securities Analysis/Investment Banking” track
-“This track of the concentration is designed for students wishing to pursue careers on Wall Street as security or investment banking analysts.”

People’s opinions on BC CSOM versus this track at cornell?

I’m pretty sure you should be looking at Cornell here. Nothing, at least in terms of what you have posted, would indicate you would be as well off at BC.
