Cornell Spring Transfer?

Right, I doubt I’d be doing spring transfer. I’d be doing fall transfer.

Thing is, I wouldn’t be doing junior transfer.

slipper, i think you’re the exception, not the rule (though congrats; that’s impressive). anyway, just my 2 cents. do what you want. good luck

Right, so it seems that Human Ecology doesn’t even offer a spring transfer option (or so the admissions officer said). Fall transfer seems to be my best option.

When thy say that they look at college grades much more than HS grades, is it by a lot, or do they still place a heavy emphasis on HS grades? How much are SATs/SAT IIs considered?

I’ll be attending Binghamton, FWIW.

heavy emphasis on HS because, as i said before, you’ll only have one college semester to show them. you can take summer classes this summer at a college to speed things up if you want.

and everyone who goes to binghamton applies to cornell lol

I mean, my high school grades weren’t all that weak, so maybe that will help my cause some.

Honestly, I don’t see a point in transferring for my junior year. IMO, it’s just not worth it.

the idea is you get your degree from your new school. best of luck. i would strongly suggest transferring for the second semester of soph year then. that’s what i did

That I could do.

On the other hand, Binghamton has this Early Assurance thing with SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine which I think I’d be a solid candidate for.

Then again, I really want to go to Cornell. My guidance counselor, peers, teachers, etc. were quite surprised when I didn’t get in.

the suny buffalo school of medicine early assurance program is open to all undergrads, not just bing ugrads, and you’d probably be a stronger candidate from cornell

Wow, I did not know that. Is it a popular option for students at Cornell?

there are a bunch of early assurance programs. i’d assume all of them are popular lol. i do know that humec specifically usually sends ~10 each year into a variety of early assurance programs, so that’s good news. i also know a few in difference colleges, so i’d say cornellians do pretty well
