Cornell Summer College

Are we supposed to choose two courses? For example: If i want to do the business program and my alternative is Law. What courses do i choose?

and can't 3-weekers attend all the college workshops?

Not necessarily, since 3-weekers have soo soo much class time. 3 credits is jammed into 3 weeks when usually it's a semesters worth. It's hard to find time to attend the workshops and activities because so much of it goes on during classtime. I did the 3-week hotel program, and we even had class from 8-10pm! I even missed out on a lot of the social activities, which kinda sucked.

Also, there are a few things that are in the second 3 weeks or first 3 weeks that you'll miss out on, depending which 3-week program you do.

zainuu- put "1" next to Business, and "2" next to which Law program you want to do. if you're choosing a law or business program, you don't list any other courses on the bottom because they're three week programs.

For selecting the 3 week business program, you'll automatically be enrolled in "Introduction to Business Management (AEM 2200)", and for the law program, depending which 3-week you choose, you'll be in "Democracy and Its Discontents (AMST 1240)" or "Introduction to Political Philosophy (GOVT 1615)"

and if im doing the 6 week, business + law..then?

sorry zainuu- what do you want to do exactly? Do two 3-week programs to make it 6-weeks?

Is there graduation for the 3week business program? How is the 3week CALS program? Is it better than the business program. My interestis in business.

If your interest is in business, do the business program.

I'm not sure if any of the other programs had it, but the 3-week Hotel program that I did had a ceremony where they gave us Hotel school water bottles (almost Nalgene quality!) and certificates. Tons of parents came and sat and watched before taking their kids home except for the ones who lived far far away

What if u dont have a second coice.then u need not put 2 there.......Is it okay if we just put 1 against our 1st choice.

huh?? What are you asking?

no because if that class is full, they want to know what other class you'd be okay with...i emailed them and asked about that a while ago.

i'm applying for the 6 week program for the biological research and health professions seminar ^_^ i'm so UBER excited, i'm waiting on a recommendation and finishing up my last essay before i send the app. but i'm super nervous =p

It sounds like an AMAZING experience
and if i get accepted i'll just DIE of happiness
....and it kinda sucks that i'd still be in school, looking forward to the summer even more than ever before AAAHHHHH lol
but yes. excited. does anyone else wanna take chem or cal? i also signed up for the FWS as my second choice, has anyone taken it in the summer before?

Does anyone know anything about the body, mind, and health program. Work load, day-to-day, etc..? Im a junior in high school and was thinking of taking it over the summer because I was considering pre med in college. Thanks!

i think its like the health profession one for six weeks except that this one is shorter and might have more of a focus on the relationship between the mind and health, like mind healing, idk.

on the side...i got accepted into the 6 week program! ^_^

oh shoot i just realized you were asking about work load not about content. lol sry! well, i don't know too much about the 3 week seminars. "/

has anyone applied yet? I will be applying soon. Is it easy to get accepted?

yeah, it's pretty easy to get admitted as long as you apply on time and such. What matters the most is HOW you do with your classes during the summer, not so much that you just attended the program.

agreed with the above. do well in your classes and that will pay off tremendously.

What is the course like...demands, paper, mid-terms, finals? What are kids on campus like? Would u take it ag.? Thx. to anyone who could offer advice.

app is very annoying.. 4 essays!

I'm looking to apply to the Body, Mind, Health class.

The three week program sounds like a lot of work. Is it one of the programs where you feel like all of the time is scheduled? Do you get free time to just socialize?
