Cornell Theatre

While I know people don't apply to Cornell for its theatre department, I am planning to minor in theatre. Just wondering, how are the theater classes? Are the performance classes, like Acting I, actually worth taking? And are there many opportunities to act in plays and student films?

Actually, a fair number of people do, and it’s a fairly reputable program. Lots of students from across campus take intro to acting courses because they are quite enjoyable.

In addition, the the plays that the Schwartz Center puts on are of extremely high quality – the production of Hamlet I saw my senior year stands as the best Shakespearian performance I have seen to date (and I have seen dozens).

All right. Thanks for the info! I didn’t know Cornell theatre was that popular…
