Cornell University CHAT for ALL Admits!

Yeah, I know i'm posting this ahead of time, oh well. I'm excited for all the RD people. All of you from the roster can chat in here. To get the party started, I'll throw a topic out there*->*my top reasons for cornell.

It was good that it met all my general requirements of high academics substantial size, northeast, etc. but the thing that really set cornell apart for me was that its sooo frickin' gorgeous! On a sunny day (however rare they may be as I hear ;)) I've just never seen anything more beautiful.

stanford is pretty damn beautiful. hopefully ill be back here at 5:01 tomorrow ;-)

i'll be back here anyways, i wanna see what happens to nickyjane haha ;-)

I feel compelled to confess my love for Cornell, once again. (I like this thread, Sparticus!) I chose Cornell because of it's world-renowned Hotel School, pictuesque campus, and strong focus on undergraduates. To the ED kids, I just wanted to say it's been awesome getting to know all of you! I can't wait for more people to share our enthusiasm for Cornell. GOOD LUCK TONIGHT GUYS!!! :)

thanks hotelie you're so lucky you're not waiting on anything. 50 min to go!

Aww, good luck, CMB720!! I panicked for days and I cried hysterically when I got in, so I know the stress you must be going though. I'm going to the gym now but when I get back I hope to hear good news!

awww... what about juniors who were rejected for ed??? i feel left out :( lol

You applied as a junior, cujoe?

(:P I'm not an admit, but I hope to be one next year...)

But ED people miss the exciting experience of waiting for all those colleges. Sure it may have been rough at times, but its something you'll never forget, and I think it builds character. Yea stanford is pretty gorgeous...^^^oh well

@billyum... yes i did :)

Mind I ask why you did?

Congrats to everyone who got accepted RD :)

yeah YAY RD people, post your info in the "Real Cornell Roster for All Admits" or whatever I called it.

does guaranteed transfer count?

woohoo! admitted to CAS!

guys I have been accepted to school of engineering as international student whooooooha - I'm scared that I wont get financial aid - do they meet 100% need for international students? thanks

oh, i finished all my requirements in basically my sophomore+junior years... senior year has nothing of real "substance" that i need to graduate

i got accepted, now I worry about fin aid. , fin aid ideas? Appeals on Financial Aid? Possible? work while in Cornell? Feasible?

I want to go to med school. Got accepted to Cornell, possibly JHU, Dartmouth, I got full ride tuition at University of Arizona with $3000 stipend , only gonna pay approximately 3000 a year for expenses etc. Which way should I go? I don't wanna be in major debt while entering med school, yet I want ivy league status , even hoping it will help some at med school admissions.

Another guy's sim. sit.
"Well, I've been accepted at a couple of schools and I've narrowed it down between U. of Pittsburgh, Cornell and Johns Hopkins. Now I don't know what to do. I want to go to med school, but I'll have to pay for that unless I go to Pitt (b/c i have a scholarship so it'll cost me 5,000 a year). So if I go to Cornell or Johns Hopkins I'll have to pay for med school and I'm not crazy about that. My parents don't care too much because they'll be paying a lot either way. My fear is that if I go to Pitt, I'll have a harder time getting into medical school.
So do you think Cornell or Hopkins would be worth the money for me?"

cornell will mail you your FA package. Esp if you're going to law or med school, the top schools are well worth the money for it. For admissions to law schools, they have your college ranked, and then multiply your GPA times your LSAT..."objective"

cornells network will hook you up after graduation. and for Med school, 76% of cornell students who apply are accepted. that jumps to 89% for those with a 3.4+ GPA. the national aceptance rate is exactly 50%

for law its 88% verses 57% nationally

how about comp sci at college of engineering?
