****Cornell University Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread****

Just a question–have people already started receiving likely letters/notices of admissions? A few people from my school have supposedly gotten in, but I haven’t heard of any likely letters being sent out this early… (I’m pretty sure they didn’t get in ED, either.)

Son applied RD -had interview with local alum. Thought it went well (not doubt as well at @STEM2017 's son though!)
We have heard nothing from Cornell so far. Seems a pattern after interviews - the interviewer doesn’t communicate again.

I didn’t get an interview. I got a UPenn one but not Cornell. I don’t think I will get one because the UPenn interviewer told me we had time until Feb 15 to do the interview(For UPenn).

Could be the same for Cornell

Does anyone know how we can change the address on the application? We are moving in a couple of days and want to make sure we dont miss out on any communication. Appreciate any help.

Has Cornell sent out the likely letters? or will send out this year?

What is a “likely letter”?

@DBPrincess notification of early admission usually distributed to 300-500 applicants who demonstrate superior academic potential, athletic aptitude, and exceptional talent in other fields.

don’t the likelies usually come out in march?

March is what I read in previous year’s posts on this topic, about 10 days before the actual decisions were released. @allima

Actually, usually March 1 +/- a couple of days.

Keep in mind, likely letters are like fairy dust. The vast majority of accepted students do not get a likely letter. In fact, only a couple of hundred are sent to non-athletic recruits. So don’t keep refreshing your email in the hopes that one will show up.

Thank you for the info! @skieurope

Does anyone know when Cornell decisions will be released? Also, are all Ivy decisions released on the same day?

My understanding is March 30th and that they are all on the same day. @PinkQuetzal9

OK, thank you @STEM2021

I know test scores aren’t the determining factor in college decisions, but I still have to ask: what are you all’s test scores? For the record my SAT is 1360 (730E 630M) and my ACT is 30 (35R 35E 26S 25M). And just to reiterate, yes, I know there is a holistic review, but I’m still curious.

Hi, my scores are 33 ACT, SAT 1500 no AP classes because my school does not offer them. I am in dual enrollment for college English and a history class. I go to a small, rural public high school in Illinous. My rank is 1/230. I have strong ECs. I am female looking to major in Astronomy and Physics. But I am also very interested in foreign languages and global studies. I just had my alumni phone interview today and I think it went well. Cornell is the only Ivy I applied to. @PinkQuetzal9

Your stats sound a lot like mine, only my small, rural high school is in CA and I’m 1/103. @STEM2021

Good luck to us both! I’m trying not to get my hopes up. I have a solid mix of great schools and I know it will all work out. @PinkQuetzal9

@PinkQuetzal9 @stem2021 33, 3.9 GPA, Valedictorion. Time for us to get this admission LOL
