@PinkQuetzal9 35 ACT / 1560 SAT. What major did you apply for?
I applied for Human Biology. I know it doesn’t even make sense given my science and math scores, but that’s what I love. What did you apply for? @wormholes
Good luck to you too! And same here; good colleges all around, but Brown is my first choice. @STEM2021
@PinkQuetzal9 You should apply for what you love, even if your scores in those areas aren’t the best! That’s really admirable; a lot of people apply for “easier” majors just because they think it’s easier to get in that way, so it’s really cool that you picked what you actually like. I applied for Human Bio, Health, and Society in Human Ecology. Did you apply to CAS or CALS? I was going to apply to Brown, but the essays were sooo tedious I-)
I don’t know what CAS or CALS stand for so I can’t answer. Does it help to say that my major is the same as yours? I just didn’t want to write the whole thing out. :)) I actually found Cornell to be more tedious than Brown, but I’m better at short answers, so yeah.
@wormholes, CAS - stands for college of arts and sciences. CALS is the college of agriculture and life science. Which one did you apply to?
@PinkQuetzal9, which one did you apply to? I applied to CALS, but my stats are not up to par…a very very very big longshot
@wormholes I applied for that major too! Similar SAT. Are you in state or out of state?
I applied to Human Ecology. My stats aren’t really up to par either but I thought my essay was really good, so I’m hoping for the best. What are your stats? I’m sure they’re not that far off; you are applying, after all. @OnEdge2021
They are far off,but I am also a good fit for CALS so that is what I am hopeful for…ACT 29. GPA 3.74. If not Cornell, then not Cornell. I would love to go there, love what I have read and seen about CALS, but I am OOS and my stats are quite low for the program. Should have applied ED, but could not make the commitment financially.
A 29 isn’t that far-off I think. But I guess it also depends how competitive your school/region is (from what I’ve heard anyway). Like I have a 30 but for my school that’s pretty good because the average score is a 25.
@OnEdge2021 it doesn’t matter if you’re OOS for cornell
@a20171 OOS you?
@allima I think it does matter for the contract colleges, of which Human Ecology is one.
@allima, I have heard that in state for CALS makes a big difference…but only time will tell. Be well all, I am about to enter dreamland.
@wormholes in-state… i’m not sure if this hurts or helps haha
@a20171 i think that helps! good luck
Cornell is such a tease. I received a letter in the mail today, but it was just an explanation about financial aid. The wait continues!
CALS with 30 ACT in-state here… Ag sciences, anybody else? The biggest thing bringing my shot down, I think, Is my rank 10/133 but that is a 4.0. Lots of niche specific internships and such though, which I’m hoping Cornell likes.
Hi I am international with 2150 and i guess my ECs are good, oddly enough I applied tho mechEngineering, but almost all my ECs are veered towards performing: drama, choir, dance etc. and i really on;y have on STEM EC: i worked at an engineering company. How do you think this affects me
