****Cornell University Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread****

Likely letter for Cornell Engineering! Received it at 4 PM today. I got the Diversity Open House and Engineering Weekend, and I’m URM, first gen college, low income. My links don’t work either, but you can just look up the info online and register.

Hey guys does this letter come out for all schools in Cornell or just certain ones?

got a likely letter today! URM in CALS, bioengineering

Got It!!! Arts & Sciences - Biology

Are these likely letters only for URMs and Women in Engineering? Have any non-URMs/WIEs gotten one?

I got a engineering likely letter (female)! Does that mean I am guaranteed admission?

@Dubudubu yup!

D got a likely letter for engineering and invited to Woman in Engineering program at 2:18 pm PST.

ACT: 36

Large competitive high school
No legacy

My daughter was accepted URM today via diversity letter. So happy for her!

Does anyone know the percentage of admit students they send the likely letter to?

I know CC isn’t exactly an accurate representation of applicants and results but it definitely seems like a lot of people got likely letters.

My friend got both the URM and engineering letters, but he was male. So although he received the URM one because he’s African American, I assume the engineering letter didn’t have anything to do w race or gender

I just hope I won’t disappoint my parent by getting a rejection letter after telling them I basically got in after the likely letter

@MCarltx Would you mind sharing your stats?

the engineering one was specific to women–there was entire paragraph about women in engineering stuff there. it said 50% of the admitted class was female, but I’m not sure if that means all of the admitted women got letters or just a subset.

So as a URM female who didn’t get a LL today should I assume it’s a no for me…FYI fashion major

Only about 400 will receive URM notice, so just because you did not get notified is no reason to assume you will not be accepted according to the website.

I have! A few people from my school, one of which I know is also a girl going into engineering, have received them as well.

Edit: How do I make this a direct reply to another post? I’m addressing the one about likely letters to women in engineering.

@sharis100 how did you know that stat? so if im a URM but didnt get a LL, does that mean im not in?

A bit confused because i really expected this LL. I got into really top schools (some that are even considered better/same tier as Cornell) but I thought I would get into cornell because i had a special connection (disclosed information) AND i had A LOT of fit with human ecology. during the info session, i told the admissions officer my ECs (she asked) and how they fit to HumEc, and she was really shocked by how well I fit. I thought so too. I have high stats that are definitely in the range for this school as well. Im 100% a URM. The thing is-i’m high income…could that be why I didn’t get a LL? Can I still get in ? someone please help this is my favorite school
