****Cornell University Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread****

ahh I hope so @vlindo ! Calling the offices tomorrow to settle all this craziness : )

waitlisted

Can anyone explain what a guaranteed transfer means? I applied to the SHA school and thought I was denied at first. What does a guaranteed transfer mean? I can’t find any info online…

I think that it means you are guaranteed a place at Cornell in January 2018.

Got in for engineering(No clue how this happened lol)!!

3.7/4.46 GPA (Yeah I know, pretty bad)
Decent EC’s, but not too much leadership
2350 SAT
800 Math II, 800 Chem, 800 Physics
Minimal Awards

well i have heard that and also that it means you would start in fall of 2018…??? im so confused @twin483403

Honestly, I’m not sure. That’s what I heard from other people. I was rejected but oh well, congrats on getting a transfer option!!

I also haven’t heard of anyone from the SHA school get the transfer option so if anyone has, let me know

@AllenTx15 Financial aid will come via email, usually a week after the acceptance, but that’s for ED. Could be a bit longer for RD due to sheer numbers.

Just wondering but what did the wait list Letter look like?

My Son Waitlisted for Engineering. Unfortunately, it looks like they took no one off waitlist last year.

Congrats to all who got in. Have a wonderful time.

I applied to SHA and got the transfer option, but I’m not entirely sure what it means

Cornell University accepted 5,889 from 47,038 applicants, according to its website. The admissions rate for the class of 2021 was 12.5%. Last year, Cornell accepted 6,277 students from 44,966 applications, a 13.96% acceptance rate.

Accepted CALS food science!
SAT 1 2150 780 math, 690 writing, 680 reading
SAT 2 800 math 2, 800 chem
gpa 4/4
Congrats everyone who was accepted!

Transfer Option is a great thing. Be excited. it essentially means that Cornell wanted to admit you with this years incoming fall class, but either didn’t have the room or wanted to see one more year of college from you. The key is that you must maintain a minimum GPA at a 2 year or 4 year accredited college. The GPA minimum is based on the Cornell college you were given the transfer option too. In addition, there are core class requirements you must take to gain full admission the following FALL school year. You will get more information from Cornell in a few days explaining the transfer option. In addition, there is a lot of information on CC about transfer option. Again, be proud. As long as you hit the right gpa and the right classes you will be admitted into Cornell the following fall year.

WOOOOHOOOO CORNELL 2021 BABY GO BIG RED!!!

Got waitlisted… should I even bother? Seems like more torture after all this wait. But I’m pretty shocked, after getting rejected from every other school except for my 2 safeties, there was no way I wasn’t expecting a no. Although this seems a little worse than a no.

Accepted!!! Fashion design major!

transfer option!!! dream come true that I wasn’t out right rejected as Cornell is my dream school!! curious to hear about past transfer option students experiences!! congrats to all who were accepted and am excited for anyone else who was given the transfer option!!! go big red!!!

DS was waitlisted, unsure whether to bother with staying on the waitlist. Thoughts?
