Can someone rate my chances? I want to know if I have at least a small chance of getting in.

Essays are on the process of editing and looking good, getting help for editing from some ivy league friends

Does anyone know if visiting is important? I didn’t visit in HS and it’s not really feasible since I’m going to a far away college.

@pbas23 it isn’t but talking about visiting Cornell on your essay would show the admission committee that you have a great interest. But again if you go to school far away they will totally understand.

@Newyorkkidd i dont want to add my sat cuz its really bad. i guess my thought is because ivy’s tend to want to increase their SAT range overall, it might be better to not submit. idk but that is just me

i think i may want to retake the ACT this upcoming february, THOUGHTS??? ANYONE???

“Ivy’s tend to want to increase their SAT range overall”…what does that even mean? Regardless, Cornell requires standardized test scores. Whether it’s SAT or ACT, you need to pick one. What they no longer require are subject tests.

Skieurope, can you get rid of this jerk?!

…visionaryfinan

@Ivehadenuf Cornell doesn’t require the SAT/ACT unless the school you are applying too is asking for it. I called admissions and they told me it’s not required for the school I am applying too (Arts and Science).

That must be for transfers. I know for a fact, incoming freshman have to submit standardized test scores.

@Newyorkkidd - Oh, I am applying for the dyson - the business school. do you happen to know if i need the act for that?

thank you again

Can anyone give me some insight on my chances? Applying as a sophomore CS transfer from Ohio State University for Fall 2020.

College GPA: 4.0
HS GPA: 3.4 (But I don’t think Cornell requires HS transcripts? Anyone have more info on that?)
ACT: 35
Credits entering Freshman year: 74
Credits after Freshman year: 103
EC: Ohio State Club Swimming, Engineering Scholars (OSU), Hackathon (OSU)
Awards: Eagle Scout, National Merit Commended, Maximus Scholarship (OSU)

Will get a good rec letter from my Software I professor
I have a software development internship for this summer but I don’t know the best way to include that.

@heyigotnoclue it’s not required for the Dyson school according to this pdf from Cornell https://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/admissions.cornell.edu/files/2020%20Transfer%20Reqs%20FINAL.pdf

does anyone know when in May do decisions come out?

If I get a B in a class will that totally ruin my chances and I will get rejected?

Hi All, I’m also a prospective transfer for Fall '20. Aiming hard for the Hotel School. Currently, in conjunction with my main program I’m trying to knock out a PreCalc class at a different college so they don’t throw my app straight into the trash.

To my knowledge ( and from a Cornell admin) the date is 15 May +/- a couple days.

If we withdraw a class and we get admitted, is it possible they take back their acceptance?

Does anyone know if calling Ian to talk about ilr and ask him questions is a good or bad idea? Would it show interest or would it be annoying?

Does anyone know if I would need to include a college report for every college attended within the year or would I need to include the one that I have the most units with? Same as well for the mid-term report.

Do you guys think the ongoing situation with the Corona Virus affect our applications/decisions in any way or sense?
