Cornell University Fall 2020 Transfer

Pin trick doesn’t work for me, but not surprised since it’s still so early. I don’t really expect to get in anyway though so I’m barely nervous LOL

Hey guys, figured I’d increase the sample size while i put off my homework.

Engineering

GPA: 3.97

No transfer option

Veteran

the main points of my statement discussed some issues i saw in the military and how i want be apart of the solution, hobbies of mine growing up, what specifically i want from Cornell, and why i love Ithaca.

EC: president of veterans club at my school, work study where i helped vets transition to school (is work study an EC?), some volunteer stuff

not gonna list all my awards but i have a handful of the typical military awards and the “good at school” college awards

I’ve also spoken to admissions in person and through email for at least a year now, so some of them know me by name.

Is anyone else from NYC or NYS applying as a transfer?

I’m from NY but I don’t attend college there

Oh gotcha

yeah! I am from NY. I attend a community College in Troy.

I’m from NY as well!

Do you guys have # on how many TO applicants get in every year?

Hello everyone! I am applying to transfer into CAS as a junior

@blueki was your transcript issue ever resolved? I sent them another transcript 3 days ago and it still shows up as missing

Anyone applying to Human Ecology? I applied for the HBHS major.
first time applying to cornell, so not a guaranteed transfer. idk what this means or how it’ll affect me.

It was not. I ended up calling them and they said there was a problem with Common App and they weren’t able to see documents from them. The lady told me to email cornell admissions with a receipt (?) from common app of my transcript submission. I didn’t have a receipt from common app bc I ordered the transcripts from my college, so I sent a screenshot of the page on common app where it shows the date they received my transcripts. I’m waiting for a response from them

Anyone know what to do about the mid-term report?

@aspiringgirl In regards to what? I can help you but there are different doubts from different people so I would like to know what yours is.

@DrewGonz19 We’re remote, so it is going to be very difficult to get profs to sign it

So I spoke to an admissions director and he said, “You can have your professors email you with an approximate grade based on whatever has been completed at this point and then upload those emails to your file. Most midterm reports don’t come in until the end of the month/early April, so you have time.”

You can also have them sign it electronically (like on Adobe acrobat) or have them scan it for signatures!

Has anyone received any indication of their decision being released or used the pin trick? I saw that the ILR Admissions Director said they start reviewing applications once the midterm report was received and all my stuff got there about two weeks ago and there’s no sign or indication of a decision being made.

I spoke with admissions, they would like to see your current grade in your classes because those grades can help them when making a decision. Also, they said your professors can sign the form electronically.

I’m a little confused on where to use the pin. Like what is this for and where do we use it?
