Cornell vs. Northwestern

I want to be premed with a major in Bio and probably Philosophy or History. I'm really interested in neuroscience as well. I live in Mich and got into U of M honors but I don't really want to go there even though it'd be cheaper for multiple reasons. I also got waitlisted at Duke and would quickly accept any offer they gave. I am torn between NW and Corn. however. I have visited both and they are both pretty different in terms of location, with Cornell being more isolated and NW being fairly close to Chicago. There are many similarities between the schools though. I'm not sure which one is actually better academically: NW seems to have slightly high med school acceptance rates while Cornell seems to be slightly overall more prestigious nationally. I don't really know this well though, because in terms of prestige, where I'm from, everyone loves U of M and NW is highly regarded too. Any input or further clarification needed would be much appreciated, I have already spent much time researching and thinking about the schools and I plan to do more of so in the future.

Northwestern is much closer and convenient to MI.

Cornell is constructing a new biology building and investing hundreds of millions into Life Sciences.

Can't go wrong w/ either choice.

The biggest differences are the size of the two schools (Cornell is almost twice the size of NU undergrad), the locale (suburban/near big city vs. rural) and the sports scene (B10 vs. Ivy).

bump...........

I personally would go farther away from home....but that's me

Good luck deciding!

do you think both schools are better than U of M honors?

I agree you can't go wrong, but do you like freezing cold or super freezing? ;-) Personally, all things being equal I might go with Cornell. That said these are all different experiences, what is it that you are looking for? Big university experience (Michigan) or Ivy (Cornell) or something in between (NU). Also, what are the benefits of doing U Mich honors? At UCLA, there are some significant benefits with honors (priority enrollment, extra seminars, smaller classes and TA sections led by the Professor of the class. Also, what are the differences in cost?
