I've been accepted into both Northwestern and Cornell and am having a hard time making up my mind on which to go. I hear Cornell is much more competitive, but they have given me more money than NU. I applied to both as a premed. But i did notice how NU promised that i would not exceed a 20k debt in undergrad? Can I believe this promise?

Congratulations on two very nice options. If a visit is not out of the question you ought to visit both. These are two different destinations with different experiences and cultural opportunities. If being near a city is important to you, NU has a leg up. But Cornell is a great school with its own pluses.

If you’re sure about medical school, which of the two schools has a better record getting people into medical school? And if the finances are markedly different, you know medical school will involve borrowing so is that a big enough difference to tip the scales?

Thanks! I am planning to visit one if not both
