I've been accepted to these schools: Case Western, Indiana, Univ of Rochester, Univ of Virginia, Wake Forest, and Cornell.

I want to know which school will provide the best pre-med education, research opportunities, related extracurriculars, etc.

Thank you.

I think that all of the schools provide great pre-medical research opportunities, although Cornell’s medical school is in New York City, whereas the other universities have their medical campuses in the same city.

UVA is big in melanoma research, also offers biomedical engineering. Wake Forest has amazing stuff in regenerative medicine (Dr. Atala) and nanomedicine. They also have the brain injury research center (that’s on the Toyota commercials) which I think is jointly with Virginia Tech. Case Western has a great medical school also. I don’t know much about Rochester. You can’t go wrong at any of these schools. Explore their websites and use this month to make inquiries.

Of course, there’s always the chance you’ll change out of pre-med, so keep your options open! Good luck and congratulations on all the acceptances!

Thank you! I really appreciate it.
I’d also appreciate any other input as well!

UVA! It is a wonderful campus and has a very well-known program. The school is absolutely beautiful! I would hands down chose UVA, even over Cornell.

For pre-med, your grades and MCATs are going to be much more important than your undergraduate school. Go where you think you’ll get the most opportunities. You can’t go wrong with any of them. For what it is worth, Wake Forest’s medical school acceptance rate is one of the best in the country and they offer an early admission to Wake Medical School (in which you do not have to take your MCATs). You’d have to email the school for more details.
