We just got back from visiting the campus. It is still as beautiful as I remembered (I did not attend but I went to school in the area). Interestingly, without prompting my child announced he is up for the challenge and that he is considering switching to a STEM major which, in my opinion, is a better fit for him. I guess the school made a positive impression.
They no longer use the word âguaranteeâ but many posters both on this and other fora say that it is provided you do the courses they ask for and have a 3.0 average.
There are approx 600 sophomore transfers to Cornell every year. Most of the transfers are actually âtransfer optionâ transfers and not external.
One kid (found on FB) is going to Cornell this fall as a sophomore and Cornell is allowing them to take a course this summer at a local state college. Really looks like they work with you.
Our kid is excited to have this option while looking forward to going to college this fall. Feels good to get an offer from waitlist, even though it wasnât a direct admit as a freshman.
Congratulations! My son got the TO from Cornell Arts & Sciences today as well. They certainly do not hand those out just like that, so we are very happy, even if they are just letting us know now (earlier would have been nice) and even if he has to wait for a year. Sadly, we are well aware that plenty of very well qualified people on the waitlist, who, just like us, had been waiting since March 31, were simply denied today.
