If you are like me and are wait listed there are a few questions I have. First is there a list for each specific college? How likely is it too get off the wait list? How lon can you stay on the wait list? Any answers would be appreciated
@redbluegreen19 It varies year-by-year.
For the class of 2014, Cornell admitted no one off the waitlist. For the class of 2016, 139/1941 were admitted (7.16% acceptance rate). Each college admits waitlistees independently of each other, but Cornell didn’t release any college-specific information.
Anyone know last year’s statistics for students getting admitted off wait list. My son was waitlisted for Dyson, anyone have an idea if he has a chance of being admitted? Heard that chances are slim. He has already reached out to Cornell expressing interest, any ideas how he can gain admission? Fear is he won’t hear until August/September, and by that time he will have committed to another school and gotten housing.
As I said in my previous post: it various year-by-year. It really depends how lucky your son is; a lower yield number usually means more waitlist acceptances.
I don’t believe Cornell has released waitlist numbers for the class of 2019, but I do know that no one was offered a fall spot in CAS. Most students seem to get a notification in May/June about their waitlist status.
Here are the numbers from HRSmom’s post in another thread:
Admitted from WL:
2015: 81
2014: 96
2013: 168
2012: 139
