Cornell waitlist 2026

What exactly does the email say about it?

Actually, a LOCI is expected by Cornell. This is a post by @neonpinklime

Important update from Cornell regarding their wait list: ā€œWait list students have been asked to let us know by April 10 if they are interested in keeping their name on our wait listā€¦It is also important to update your Cornell admission application if you choose to remain on the wait list, because we do consider the demonstration of continued interest by those students.

Admission updates can include a statement of continued interest, new grade reports, information about new honors or awards, and communication about additions or shifts in momentum related to your activities in and outside the classroom. We welcome any new information and invite wait list applicants to send it to us quickly using the following method. Log in to your Cornell Application Status Page, use the Supplemental Uploader, and select ā€œWait List Correspondenceā€ from the drop-down menu to submit new information. ā€œ See entire message here About the Cornell University Wait List ā€” April 2022 | Cornell University Undergraduate Admissions Office

But didnt you get an email from Cornell that said otherwise? It seems like that is posted on their website, but then they emailed the students and asked them not to do that.

The best way is to email the admission office or give them a call.

My daughter did not get that email. Can you please share the text of the email.

I realized the email was from the engineering school, so I guess they are doing it differently.

Oh thatā€™s interesting. Thanks for clarifying. Have people received emails from other schools within Cornell? My daughter applied to Arts and Sciences and I donā€™t think sheā€™s received anything.

My D is waitlisted in Engineering and she got the e-mail clearly specifying not to send any updates or advocacy calls. It hinders rather than helps mail says.

I believe Cornell Engineering students may have received an email about not sending in any additional info! All other students should upload their LOCIā€™s Asap into the portal!

Wishing all of you guys good luck.

Itā€™s interesting that different schools within the same university would take a different approach. Is there any Cornell waitlist data broken down by school?

Hey, WL for CAS. I have some questions.
-Does anyone know when the best time is to send LOCI? I donā€™t know whether it is better to submit now or in mid-April?
-Also, I applied as and environment and sustainability major, but I recently found out that this is an inter-college major between CAS and CALS. Does the WL only apply to the college that I have been WL for? I assumed that it is only for CAS, but if anyone know, please let me know!

COE specifically says not to send any additional info unless they go to the waitlist and ask you for the ā€œbrief paragraph on a topic of our choiceā€

I am writing in recognition of the fact that you have been offered a spot on the Cornell Engineering wait list. If you remain interested in Cornell Engineering , your first instinct may be to write us an email or request additional letters of recommendation. Please know, however, that we require just three simple tasks for wait-listed applicants :

  1. Officially accept your wait list offer by April 10. Log in and indicate your wish to remain on the wait list.
  2. Ask your guidance counselor whether your mid-term grades have been sent. If not, request they be sent to Cornell. Only applicants with mid-year grade reports will be considered for offers of admission from the wait list.
  3. If we go to the wait list, we will ask all applicants remaining on the list to write a brief paragraph on a topic of our choice. More information will be sent to you directly via email if we go to the wait list.

Pretty simple, right? We understand that the wait list seems daunting, but we truly want you to focus on finishing your senior year. Thusly, we will NOT consider :

  • Letters of continued interest
  • Updates on activities, awards, etc.
  • Additional recommendation letters
  • Campus visits
  • Lobbying efforts by yourself or advocates via email or phone

Over the years we have found that interest letters and extra recommendations do not substantively add useful information to an application at this phase of the review process. We want to give everyone remaining on the wait list the opportunity to vouch for themselves in a fair and equitable processā€”a short paragraph will accomplish that. Should spots become available, we will provide you a link where you can write a brief topical paragraph.

We hope that you will follow and respect this request. In mid-April, we will send you an update on the status of the wait list. Thank you for your interest in Cornell Engineering and your patience throughout this process.

My daughter was offered a TO for Human Ecology. To take advantage of the TO she needs 12 credits each semester beginning fall of 2022 at either a 2-year or 4-year program. If she takes the required classes and achieves a 3.5 she can enroll in her intended major in Human Ecology in the fall of 2023.

My understanding is that most TOs are offered in June from the waitlist pool. I am not sure why my daughter was offered the TO in March and not first put on the waitlist, but it does give her some time to figure out where to go this fall (it could be community college) and what classes to take if she does intend to transfer for fall 2023. Good option, but also lacks closure and is putting a little bit of a cloud over next steps.

Has anyone received a waitlist update? They said there would be an update sent in the mid-April timeframeā€¦

Where did they say this?

Hey I was also waitlisted at Dyson. Wanna chat

I was a waitlisted at Cornell Dyson. I was wondering a) if it is possible to still get the guaranteed transfer option and b) what my chances of getting in are. Answers to either will be appreciated.

Did Cornell open the waitlists for 2022 batch?
Was supposed to be mid April that they would let us know if they are going to the waitlist.
