@loveyou3000 thanks so much!! So it looks like the CALS class is full and they’re most likely only doing TO’s now. Has anyone got one yet? Also, has anyone got into the spring semester off the waitlist yet?
@teddy10143 I was wondering whether CALS did spring admission for FYPS, but this year the only schools are CAS and Hotel Management. Last year they admitted CALS through this program but this year it doesn’t seem they are doing it because I can’t find it ANYWHERE on their website I believe they are looking at TO’s rn… ughhhhh
@CrayonShinChan awwww I was hoping spring admission might still be an option, oh well
@teddy10143 yeaaa…it’s tough. I guess a TO is better than a straight rejection lol. But as of rn I think they’re rejecting people off the waitlist in order of rank??? Idk, bc one of my friend got rejected today but I didn’t. But I also had a far inferior stats than him so idk how they are rejecting people off the waitlist rn.
@CrayonShinChan yah idk, I guess they might just be going over the candidates again and rejecting the ones they’re sure about? Idk though. Do you happen to know how many people get TOs off a waitlist? Like do most get it or not that many?
@CrayonShinChan, I’ve been checking my email all day because I’m so paranoid about getting an email. I just don’t want to hear anything from them until I know they’re done sending rejections. I’ve been hoping for a transfer, but I just don’t know about my stats. They seem average, probably below average
@teddy10143 I’m not sure but going off of Cornell waitlist 2022 CC thread, most (I mean like MOST, if not almost all if I remember correctly) who said they applied to CALS got a TO. Idk how reliable that is tho bc last year there were +50 pages so they were def more active. Idk if it’s because this year Cornell just had a smaller waitlist pool or people just don’t want to talk here, but that’s the vibe I’m getting. Most of the people from CAS and CoE were mostly rejections. But again, don’t trust me too much on what I say because I’m just going off of last year after reading all their threads (which isn’t the healthiest thing to do but hey ??♂️I got the time so why not lol)
@returner04 haha ME TOO. I’ve been checking and just don’t want to get rejected because it was my dream school sigh and trust me, I have a pretty bad stats given Cornell’s average stats. I honestly don’t know how I got waitlisted going off of how I got rejected to almost all my colleges this year. Also if you don’t mind, what Cornell school did you apply to?
@CrayonShinChan I applied to CALS for communication. It’s my #1, and honestly I didn’t even think I’d make it to the waitlist. I got waitlisted at BC, but Cornell was my dream/reach school.
@returner04 congratulations for making it this far though at least !!! Given that CALS is the second largest school, it looks like they’re taking their time with this. Idk about other schools like CAS but…
@CrayonShinChan thank you and congrats too!! It’s so nerve wracking waiting, hopefully we hear soon! If you don’t mind saying, what major did you apply for?
@returner04 HAHAHA thankssss!! I’ve been checking my spam folder consistently and I know I shouldn’t hope for anything but that slim hope that still remains is making me ?. I applied for animal science and management along with integrative plant sciences as my second choice…so this means a lot bc animal science isn’t really offered in such prestigious schools
@CrayonShinChan that’s really cool! I hope you get in ?. I have a heart attack every time I see an email downloading in my mailbox. It’s like an emotional roller coaster everyone I check my email
@returner04 Lol agreed I guess all we can do is hope and wait. But looking at last years thread, almost all people from CALS got their decisions by yesterday, and judging by this year, they’re really taking their time
Hey guys!! Just got the transfer option for CALS!!
me too! ^^
@teddy10143 ME TOO!!! But what are the chances of getting in thru this?? I’ve seen mixed comments
@CrayonShinChan yay congrats!!! I think I’ve heard it’s relatively easy— you just need to keep a certain GPA depending on your major, take the required classes, and I’ve heard for the application you don’t even have to write an essay!!
I got one too!! Congrats @CrayonShinChan, @teddy10143, and @Calistudent2023!! I found out while I was in Wegmans and I freaked out and hugged my mom and was such a mess at the self checkout that we had to get help three times because I kept doing things wrong ? I’M SO EXCITED GUYS!!!
HAHAHAHA @returner04 @teddy10143 who would’ve thought that we would’ve all ended with a TO! Well congrats you guys. I guess the wait did pay off even though it wasn’t what we planned when we were applying here
