Cornell Waitlist Class of 2024

@simpleliving88 Pretty sure there wasnt an email confirmation but I sent it twice just in case. I dont think itll annoy them!

I’m worried about my survey submission not going through similar to @simpleliving88 . i might do it again just in case, but @kat123203 are you sure it won’t annoy them?

I submitted it once as well, but I am afraid to submit another one lol. Maybe it will look as desperation.

What do you think I should do? Should I submit one more just in case?

How am i not supposed to be anxious when they don’t give a confirmation, considering there’s a very unlikely chance I get accepted if my survey doesn’t go through.

I wasn’t sure but i think I am going to send Cornell an email just telling them I filled out the survey and I just wanted to make sure it went through blah blah blah

Do you think the survey means we are likely going to be taken off the waitlist?

Sorta, sadly. I believe the kids who got the email having a much higher chance, but it is more likely that this just means the kids who didn’t get the email have a very low chance. Schools like Cornell only care about their yield so it makes sense that they want to gauge the likelihood of matriculation with waitlist students. It is more likely they are casting a wide net with the email and will then choose some of the students for waitlist. BUT!!! because of covid-19, we really know nothing and loads of kids might get off the waitlist. We’ll just have to see.

Did you write them an email?

not yet. i’m gonna do it tomorrow. what’re you gonna do?

Not sure, just gonna trust my gut feeling that I submitted it and everything is right. lol

“In the case that Cornell decides to select students from the wait list after May 1”
“preparing for potential waitlist activity in May”

These two emails suggest no one has been taken off the waitlist yet. So are the reports of people being taken off already false???

I have read repeatedly on CC and elsewhere that the waitlist does not affect admission stats. That is, it does not affect the acceptance rate, the yield, etc. True?

Those who received email from A&S, have you been in touch with the AO through this time? Or was it just a LOCI and no more contact beyond it. I’m trying to understand if the email was only sent to candidates from who they don’t have any communication after LOCI.

@SAYSA only LOCI with updates and reiteration of interest in Cornell, no contact with any AO.

@dylanddr and others, I am going to rely on the simple Thank You message that appeared on the browser after the form was submitted. It would have been nice if there was an email confirmation or an indication on the portal. But since we are all in the same boat, I feel comfortable that the form submission worked as intended.

@happinessmatters , thank you. @dylanddr - what about you? Any contact with AO beyond the LOCI?
I forget who else got the letter to confirm interest. It will be great to get all of your responses too.

LOCI uploaded on 4/1. Received A&S email.

@Papa1977 Any contact with the AO after LOCI?

LOCI sent on 04/05 . Additional recommendation letter from school was going to be sent. I have not received email. CAS. International.

No contact with AO.
